man....trip down memeory lane today...I took a couple bong hits and started thinking about the Bullfrog Creek.
Midnight.....full moon.....crossbow and spotlight. Coons on the bank lookin' at ya, mullett jumping in the boat from shining the spotlight next to it, and pulling crabtraps....yea that was wrong, but I was only 12. Come home at around 3 AM and wake up Granny to put the big pot on the stove....Gotta cook them crabs before they die. Skin the coon, and see if we lucky enough to get a mullett full of roe........man I miss home sometimes!!
You can cut over to Bodega Bay Or go up to Fort Bragg some of the best fishing and crabbing on the West Coast. Down here we got great fishing and crabbing. Took the Grandson and caught Sand dabs a Octupus and perch under the Golden Gate on the Marin Side. dirrtyd

doublejj...I will give my mom in law a hollar and see if their butcher has any clients needing to sell or if he has any, most of the time they split up the slaughter so he normally has something and always good eats!!!! Not sure what current prices are either as we have only raised our own and never had to purchase except different wild game for special parties!!!

dirrtyd, my mom in laws boyfriend and I plan on heading out there real soon to go chill and relax, just got to get a free minute away from all the sprouts and rooms needing my current attention!!!

Sorry cant help whom I dont know.....hope is family is ok, they need the help im sure!!!!

doublejj I left a note with my family to make sure and find out how much, how much in advance do you need? Obviously fresher would be better, and no one would have to store a roasting pig!!!
Also do you have an estimate on what I or others could donate for the cause?

I haven't been here forever like some of yous guys but I for one was really looking forward to meeting FDD as well as many of the rest of yahs. I am sorry for Fadeds bad luck? and wish him and his family the best. Really saddens me that this has happened. Thank God being an asshole isn't a crime. Some of my best friends are assholes. Wouldn't want it any other way.

doublejj, yea we just started this whole self sufficient thing, well at least the rest of the family did , we dished out abit of the loot we scored for our efforts(pork, beef & turkey too), so if you have a source thats the best way, appreciate it and now we know we should raise up a few just for a yearly gathering!!!
I hope this guys family is doing alright and getting by, no one wins in these matters.

Thats what I'm sayin' justadude. That new pad of yours have any lights fired up?
Doh, we didn't get the place..... We had UNKNOWN 2000-2003 Property taxes & fines on a property, no longer owned. We were required to prove we didn't owe the taxes or have ownership of property at that time, all paperwork has been sent about 2 months ago still have not yet to hear anything. Someone else bought the house we wanted about 2 weeks ago so it is now gone.

At first we were really upset about it, but whatever life goes on and there will be more houses and even better houses. I remember when I bought my first house, we made offers on so many houses and our offer ALWAYS seemed to be beat. I think we made offers on like 20 some thing houses before we finally got one.

I got so fusterated I went and made 3 offers on 3 diffrent houses at the same time, I told my agent to tell them my offers were only good for 48 hours. It made my agent so mad, at first he wouldn't do it and said it wouldn't work, but I kept inseting he do it and he gave in.....The next day he called me to let me know 2 offers had been accepted......lol

Anyway, I don't do indoor, we have 2 small children and another on the way, so my wife wouldn't go for that. I barely got to do my outdoor, and it worried her ALOT. Also it seemed to bother my neighbors because they saw my greenhouse and the smell was a bit much, not sure if we will find another house to buy in time for outdoor and im not sure I want to do it here again because I been getting alot of dirty looks.

I know I shouldn't care what other people think but, I do.

Sorry to hear that you lost the place but like you said the right one will come along and fall into place like it should. I get the whole no indoor thing because I have a deal with my wife that I wont have a room now that our baby was born. I keep trying to convince myself that I can get some t5 fixtures in a cabinet in the garage to keep a mother or 2 around but I know that I will wind up plugging in the big bulbs again if I do.

Maybe just switch up your outdoor this year and go with something a little less stanky?

The cookbook keeps growing. This recipe is too good not to share early. You do need to pay attention, stoners....because it tastes like crap if it gets brown and is heavenly when it's perfectly crisp. :-) Enjoy!

[h=1]Baked Crispy Kale Recipe[/h]Servings: 4 as snack Prep Time: 5 Cook Time: 20
The biggest secret to getting the kale super-crisp is to dry them in a salad spinner. If there is moisture on the leaves, the kale will steam, not crisp. Also, do not salt the kale until after they have come out of the oven. If you salt beforehand, the salt will just cause the kale to release moisture...thus steaming instead of crisping. I've also found that the convection setting on my oven works really well too - I set the convection on 325F and bake for about 10-15 minutes. Have fun with this recipe, I sometimes mix the salt with Cajun or Creole seasoning.

[h=3]ingredients:[/h]4 giant handfuls of kale, torn into bite-sized pieces and tough stems removed (about 1/3 pound)
1-2 tablespoons canna olive oil
1-2 teaspoons good vinegar (I used organic cider, but balsamic would be great)
sea salt or kosher salt

[h=3]directions:[/h]1. Preheat oven to 350F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
2. Place the kale leaves into a salad spinner and spin all of the water out of the kale. Dump the water and repeat one or two times more just to make sure that the kale is extra dizzy and dry. Use a towel to blot any extra water on the leaves. Place the kale on the baking sheet.

3. Drizzle olive oil and vinegar over the kale leaves and use your hands to toss and coat the leaves. Bake in the oven for 12-20 minutes until leaves are crisp. Take a peek at the 12 minute mark - the timing all depends on how much olive oil you use. Just use a spatula or tongs to touch the leaves, if they are paper-thin crackly, the kale is done. If the leaves are still a bit soft, leave them in for another 2 minutes. Do not let the leaves turn brown (they'll be burnt and bitter) Remove from oven, sprinkle with salt and serve.
