That denial is so real. I feel ya.I’m eyeballing one right now too. I already suspect but I‘m wait’n for confirmation. Likely some denial involved lol

What does this post even mean? You grew regulars and got males?I am just friggin broken. I thought my Alpha patch was full of a wide variety of beautiful strains and all female. I was going to have so much fun seeing what worked well. I can't remember this happening with 6's before...
My beautiful wife. Nudges me and says soothingly, 'baby this happens every year.' She's right you know. Cheesequake, sunny days, gone. Survivors so far, waziri, superbud, putang, and I dunno. Don't wanna deal.
Did cut the top off one to put in water to see if I can get pollen.
Ugh.
Brilliant deduction. What does this post even mean? You grew regulars and got males?
You grew regulars and you’re shocked you got males, talk about brilliant. Don’t be mad at me because you didn’t plan accordingly.Brilliant deduction.
Ya I went with a mix this year… (5) Fem and (7) Regs. Ended up with 8, with 1 of those 8 possibly still suspect but w/o confirmation yet. Unless I go to some breeding, I’ll likely stay with feminized next season. Regs are typically known to be the more stable genetics, so I get it, but I don’t like dedicating the time and resources when they can and to many times do eventually show male. This is only my 2nd year outdoors, so I’m still getting my feet wet on experiences with the different outdoor options. Changing gears… Getting ready for that late summer stretch and flower in August… that seems to be where the tire meets the road with PM and bud rot concerns becoming the new constants. Ahhh… what a beautiful plant we grow! LolEasy fellas, I think PVOG was expressing dismay, not surprise. If you grow regular seeds it is a total crapshoot. Last year 8 of 10 Tirah were female but only got 1 girl out of 5 Hawaiian Hashbud x Balkhi. This year I’m 2 for 4 on Sholgar, 3 for 5 on Rustam Kush with the other 2 still indeterminate, 4 for 5 on Waziri repros and at one point guesstimated I was 4 for 5 on Balkhi repros (this was before I drowned the four in pots and had to do an emergency transplant into the ground lol).
I always use the winter offseason to germ, sex and get clones set up for summer. My blood boils when I have to toss a whole summer season's worth of work in the woods.Ya I went with a mix this year… (5) Fem and (7) Regs. I was surprised, yes, that they showed so late! I guess I thought that by buying FEMINIZED seeds, I'd get ALL FEMALES.Easy fellas, I think PVOG was expressing dismay, not surprise. Im not mad at you, and apologize for the response. I was under the impression that I'd planted all feminized seeds. I shouldn't have jumped on you like that...You grew regulars and you’re shocked you got males, talk about brilliant. Don’t be mad at me because you didn’t plan accordingly.
I'd say if they are dry 3 inches down you're not overwatering. This heat does things to all plants, the corn is curling in the fields , the pumpkins are wilting badly, it's all bad out there. I'd just water them in the morning, and again at night. Is it me or does your soil look like a parking lot pavement?Meanwhile I’m busy with my own issues. Watered twice yesterday, went out at night and they were all standing up proudly. Got literally a five minute shower at like 1:00 a.m. Went out this morning and all the Waziri and the adjacent Balkhi are doing this -

Stuck the moisture meter in, and it shows the top inch saturated but three inches down dry as a bone. The Waziri and Balkhi have been begging for water like every day, it’s like they can’t get enough. So I hit them with a bit more water, but fucked if I can tell if they are over or underwatered…obviously it can’t be both lol
Meanwhile, the Rustam Kush and Sholgar just don’t GAF one way or the other, when dry the tops and branch ends might tilt a little but that’s about it, even the Sholgar I accidentally decapitated is like whatevah -

LOL it is total hardpack in between the holes as I walk on it continually and it hasn’t been tilled for at least three years. But the soil in the holes themselves is fairly loose, as I toss in a good dollop of peat moss every spring when I remove the stumps and work in cow manure.I'd say if they are dry 3 inches down you're not overwatering. Fine pine bark mulch is cheap and holds tons of water.@p59teitel Your plants definitely need more water! I would get some more compost and spread it around the plants. This really helps absorb more water while watering and it is not hydrophobic like your soil seems to be. Maybe try watering a wider radius around the plants. A straw mulch might help as well. Also, they might need a little boost with liquid fish/seaweed to power through the dry and hot conditions. Hope this helps!
I was thinking that straw mulch also. Only problem is that hot dry dirt, uoud probably have mold/spore issues, but hey, maybe not. Maybe just what the doctor ordered! Won't know until you try, I guess.@p59teitel Your plants definitely need more water! I would get some more compost and spread it around the plants. I mulch like crazy here in Oklahoma and plant directly into the ground to maximize keeping the roots cool and to minimize watering, and in 4 years I haven't noticed any mold issues I can attribute to the hay I use. During our drought I have been watering 20 gallons, through emiters every other day and sometimes every day, when we hit 109 3 days in a row. Fotunately, my soil drains adequately.I was thinking that straw mulch also. Only problem is that hot dry dirt, uoud probably have mold/spore issues, but hey, maybe not.
