WOW, nice!!!. I would have never found that. Thanks!.

All the places I found wanted like .79$ per watt.

hey, no problem. You can always shop around some more but it'll be hard to beat $119 for a ballast, ref/socket and lamp tube. Good starter setup. You can always add a cooltube to this setup later on.

well, thanks again man, I will be getting that for my next grow.

I figure since I am already this far with my CFL grow, I might as well finish with CFL. My third attempt will have this HPS setup. to be honest I can't wait.

Also, for my 2nd attempt how would you rate the plant it self? (considering I was just using CFLs)

Your plants are quite small now. It'd make all the difference in the world to get the HPS in there ASAP.

Looks OK for a plant raised so far under CFLs. You'll be pretty disappointed with the yield and density if you flower the plant with CFLs, tho. CFLs weakest point is flowering due to low intensity.

Ok, so it looks like this plant was a success in the fact that I was able to grow it with out any issues. Over all a healthy plant, and a worth while experience.

However, much to my disapointment, it turns out that the plant is a male.:finger: As you can clearly see in the attached pic.
So in response to the discovery of the unwanted male, I took the hedge trimmers to it. RIP

For my next attempt (#3) I will be using my Medusa feminized seeds, and by the end of the month, I will have a decent flowering light thanks to Al B providing me with the info, thanks AL. So wish me luck, I will be posting my 3rd attempt in a few days as soon as the seed germinates.

Wow that sucks, tho males do sometimes grow bigger and faster than females form what ive heard. I love your setup tho, I might just look into DWC.

Yeah, my setup seems to be constantly changing as I learn new stuff about growing. Here is my current setup, with the now deceased plant right before I hacked it down.

I am probly going to enclose it with some plywood, and cover the inside with mylar.

sorry to ask, but could you point me in rthe direction to some good info for DWC setups or the like? RIU's search is buggy for me, might be because I use firefox but I dunno.

also how many watts of cfls are you using? They seem to be working real well

As far as some good info for dwc set ups. You might want to check out the GrowFaq. Most of those listed in the growfaq might be a little more advanced than most of us casual growers would want or need..

A very simple yet effective dwc setup is using a 5gal bucket w/lid, and spray paint the bucket black.

Drill a hole in the lid for the air hose, and cut a hole in the lid for your net pot.

As far as CFL wattage I am using five 27 watt (100 watt equiv) CFL bulbs.
A good rule of thumb for CFL growing is. The more the better, because CFL has a very low light intensity range, you need to make up for it with more bulbs.
