Well, I need to buy a water temp gage (I have a an oral thermometer at home ill test with tonight), but the pump it self is a very small fountain pump, not even 10gph, and doesn't even get warm to the touch.

I would have to guess at this point based on touch that the water is about 72 F. I have been adding bags of ice cubes to the tank every 12 hours or so, and that seems to help.

Ya know, I have an idea.

I have built alot of liquid cooling computers, and it just occured to me that I could hook my pump up to a small heat exchanger(probly multiple hooked together to get a large surface area) and put a few fans on it to cool my water.

Do a forum search on res chiller and you will find a bunch of threads about homemade chiller ideas....

Also, in regards to the amount of o2 being pumped into my tank. I am using flexible air diffusers, but I was wondering, is there something better I could use that would produce much smaller bubbles, and more of them ?

ok well i just fixed my own problem with the bubbles. It dawned on me that I could hook up 2 pumps to one line, doubleing my bubble out put.

Ok guys, here is another update.

One pic to show off the roots.

The other for the foliage, also the bottom leaves seem to be the only leaves with what appear to be heat damage, or possibly nute burn, but my other leaves do not appear to be damaged in any way. So I think in general it's healthy.

The roots take off first not much up top....you should start seeing lots of growth soon! Keep up the good work

Start by getting rid of the CFLs. If you are impressed with how they are growing now, you'd drop dead if you saw what they would do under a modestly sized HPS like a 400.

HTG sells a 400W HPS with lamp tube, ballast and reflector for $119.
