God damnit. The day I've been avoiding since I was a teenager.... Wisdom tooth extraction. I made it this long but now they gotta come out. This is gona suck. Not to mention I can't consume cannabis in any form 3 days before surgery. 3 FUCKING DAYS? Lol. Jk. Totally doable it's just gona suck the big one for a few days. Wow. I can't even remember the last time I didn't smoke weed in a day. Prob the first time I went to Nashville and asking someone there for weed is apparently the same as telling them you're a murderer of infants.
What's the longest you've gone 'sober' for? What's the world like if not through the glossy red eyes of a stoner?
I'm scared
Got mine out a few yrs ago. Only novicaine and it wasn’t too bad, more pressure than pain imo. And I’m fairly stupid when it comes to certain things, I don’t ever stop puffing. Hell I arrive stoned. I’ve never got any dry pockets or other probs

Had 2 teeth pulled many years ago, on the way back home from the dentist, I stopped for 2 things.. A bottle of Jack Daniels and an 8th of weed.

I don't listen to doctors. They tend to go to extremes when it comes to my sobriety.

I did when I was 18. I was moving to another State and HAD to go to an ER on the way. Said I had an abscess( recently had my wisdom out) I'm sure there are more painful things but this has to be a close second. Aspirin and ibuprofen dont touch toothaches. I'd listen to the Drs on this one.

Abcesses are common after wisdom teeth are pulled. Usually it's left over from before the teeth were pulled.

I've had 4 teeth pulled in my life. Have heard of "don't do this or that or you end up with a dry socket"... I just never heeded the advice and I never had a problem.

Maybe drinking the alcohol in the Jack killed any infections?

One day on antibiotics fixed me up thankfully.

Shit, I’ve had all kinds of surgeries through out my life and during most of them I was a drug addict. I’ve done way worse than smoke some weed before a surgery.

Also they get you so high pulling those wisdom teeth I don’t see what the difference would even be. I had Valium an hour before and gas during my surgery. Shit worked fine I remember I was having a hard time not laughing and this guy had his knee in my chest with some kinda dental pliers in my mouth. A piece of my tooth broke loose and his hand ended up smacking him in the head when it broke. Blood all over that clear face shield. Anyways even with all that I was still feeling great and thought it was funny.

I recently took some pills that were supposed to help me stopping smoking cigs, about the 3rd day the cigs tasted so bad I couldnt finish one. BUT on the 4th day the same thing happened with weed, no matter how hard I tried I couldn’t smoke and if I didn’t didn’t feel anything. Lasted about a week and was hell. I don’t think I’ll take anymore breaks.

I did mj every night for years, when I stopped I had the same thing happen, crazy vivid dreams. MJ does fuck with your sleep, breaks are a must imo. There’s a Joe Rogan podcast on sleep and mj with a guy named Matt Walker, very good info
I can sleep anywhere anytime. Lol. My chick gets mad because within a min or 2 im sawing logs and it takes her a while to get to sleep

Same, I used to have trouble sleeping when I was young. But I had to go on vacation to the gated community for a few years. With nothing but time in there I was able to train my mind to shut off when I lay down for bed instead or racing like crazy.

Was a good stay, learned to sleep better, and kicked my addiction to opiates and other hard drugs. I did 11 months in solitary which is honestly what helped the most.

Didn’t enjoy any of it at the time thought it was worst thing could happen, but looking back on it, was def a good thing.

Do not smoke before or after. Just like the DOCTOR asked. Shit has happened to someone at some point or another. To be honest. Chances are probably very slim. Somewhere around <10%. But do you really wanna be another statistic? And because all that was a precautionary conversation I’m sure? If you wake up. You have no legal actions on your half because y oh went AGAINST medical advise. Just my 2 cents man. Good luck with everything!! I wish you the best recovery!

I smoke every day for the past 10 years, and in the meantime the longest without weed was 6 months, and it was also because of a tooth.
I sprained my front tooth and moved it out of place. Luckily i didn't break the tooth or the root, but i damaged my tooth ligament, those fibers holding the root in the bone socket. It took a long time and many dentist visits to heal. The pain was extreme, i could barely eat or drink, let alone smoke. Actually weed made my pain only worse, it would increase the pressure, warmth and inflammation around my tooth. And while being high i was more aware and sensitive to the pain, i couldn't stop thinking about my tooth and imagining the damaged area, a terrible high experience.

Here and there i would go without weed for a month or so, for various reasons.
But this time i'll be without weed for 3-4 months. Gonna start some autoflowers so i'm counting from seed to harvest + drying and curing.
I'll have no weed until then.

And i highly suggest don't smoke anything at least 2 weeks after the extraction. Wisdom teeth can have large curved roots, leaving a big hole in the socket. The holes will need all the blood they can get to create a blood clot and heal properly. If you smoke, the suction can trigger bleeding and the holes may heal improperly leaving a permanent recess. That's why you shouldn't drink through a straw or from bottles because of the suction.

You'll be fine, hang in there!

I “needed” to get my wisdoms out, I said fuck that and let them crash in normally.

24 and so far they only hurt for like a year then went away. They are almost fully in, they said they will not cause any more issues who would have thought?

They wanted to rip em out!

Same here. Now I'm paying for that decision. They ended up breaking so they're fucked and need to come out. If I would.habe done it when I was 20 it would.have been easy peasy
