I have heard that you are not supposed to LST or top autoflowering strains- and if you do it adds at least 2 weeks to growth?

Have you heard this?

I am not an Auto Flower grower- but I just built my friend a beautiful room with a 600 watt hps and he has decided to run 10 autoflowering plants- 5 ER and 5 Blue Himalaya Diesel each of the 5 in an 18 gallon DWC Rez.

I am skeptical of the autoflowering strain- I've been doing more and more research on them to help him through his first grow. Its fun to learn new things, and these seem to be a new frontier.

I've also heard you should be running 1/3-1/2 strength nutes... you mentioned full strength... and your plants show a slight burn (if it appears the same in autoflowering strains as photoperiod...as i assume)

Definitely subscribed. Curious to see how te ER does under such low light, and compare that to how it does under the 600.

You are correct, it is not worth it to stunt their growth since the life span of an autoflowering strain is so short. As for LST, it's just fine to do so.

I have never heard that you can't give an autoflowering strain full strenght nutes, seems to be false. The only reason why it got burned was because I gave the plant full strength nutes at week three, way too early and you should start at 1/4 and work your way up.

Just put the Cali Hash Plant into flowering. Lights come on at 8:00.

The Easyryder is getting very close to harvest and I am excited to smoke my first autoflowering bud. The California Hash Plant has not stretched much in the few days it has been in flowering and will show signs of sex within the next week.

I forgot to mention that with the Lowryder #2 I figured I would reuse soil from my last grow. The Lowryder #2 grew quite fast but at one week, but just toppled over because the stem turned soft. I did have a fan blowing on it and it didn't have a long stem. I just don't know what went wrong. So I decided to germ a Sensi Seeds Limited Edition Big Bud Feminized seed and another Lowryder #2 Feminized seed. As soon as they sprout I will be making another thread and post it in the grow journal thread.

I just wanted to let you know that LSTing is not very hard, all you have to do is tie and go. I did LST because of height issues, I made the box for a friend a little while back and gave it a test run just to show him that it would work. Yes, it's getting close to harvest and can't really predict when to chop chop since I've never really grown an autoflowering strain, but i love 'em. But I'll know when time comes.

I have some new pics of the Easy Ryder and the California Hash Plant. I transplanted the Hash Plant into a slightly bigger pot and within two days it has done substantial growing. The Easy Ryder's buds look bigger and bigger every day.

As I promised you I posted a new thread in the Grow Journal section for the Big Bud and Lowryder #2. Check them out when you have a chance.

I will post more bud shots later this evening. I'm running a little late this morning.

is this do too over-watering?
I don't think the Easy Ryder was overwatered, although I did flush it two days ago. The leaves have looked like that for the past two weeks, like I said it's really not that bad. It just has a slight curl downward. Remember it's at the end of its life cycle.

Here are those bud shots as promised, don't drool too much.

It is now 8 weeks and 2 days old. I would say there is at least two weeks left, because only 25-35% of the pistils have turned orange and receded into the bud.

yeh that easy ryder has about 2 weeks left..3 wouldnt hurt at all. and instead of checking hairs for ripeness check the trichs..its the only real way to tell if ur buds are ripe! Besides that man everything looks good, easy ryder buds lookin delicious! make sure to do a smoke report.

word, sounds good man. how often do you water?

peace
I water her about 3 times every 2 weeks. The schedule is one water then a flush 'till it's time for harvest.

Yeah I think so too, I will make sure to post a smoke report.

Plants look nice man enjoy the fruits to the fullest!!

How tall are your girls and have you tied them down at all? (LST)

Thanks, and yes I have LSTed them and as a result they are about eight inches tall.

Dam i guess the LST is working out nicely then. Do you anticipate that they will get any bigger vertically? I am going to start a PC case grow this weekend and I'm looking for strains that will fit. Do you think i could swing two of these babies in a PC case?

Good luck with your harvest,
J5
