what i did was put the taller ones on the outside of the other plants and raised them a foot off the floor so that the lower un affected buds filled out as well and put the smaller plants beneath the light.i then switched to smaller plants in sea of green next time.i found that the smaller plants were less efected by heat,i dont know why but they were.

yea that sounds like a good idea trapper ill probably do that as well.
Also, we topped our plants about 2 weeks into flowering does that have a negative effect on the plants at that stage?

ya it will stall growth for awhile,i only topped an outdoor during flowering,i actually used the fim method a week and 1/2 into flowering,it actually gave me three nice colas the same size as the uncut one,but it did take about 4 days for it to get going after topping maybe a bit more,it is not good to top during flowering.i think the smaller plant were not as much affected by the heat because they were closer to the cool floor and the coolness of the soil but i cant prove this.

that sounds about right because the lower plants have bigger bud on them. As for topping during flowering, did that stunt the growth of the plant as in how tall it got or did it stunt the growth of the bud. I would not have minded if it stunt the growth of the plant because they still were shooting too tall after we topped them. The topping might also explain though the reason the tops of the plants are not as thick with bud as the lower branches maybe they take longer to progress?

its not done were at day 39 i just started the thread on the 30th day of flowering. it should take around 60 days or so

i just know what you lose during heat stress can never be recovered,that is what ive read and that is what ive seen.so the topping and the heat have combined to affect growth.you cant change that,only learn from it,for next time.

yea thats a hard pill to swallow. thank god we now have my buddy who actually was growing this with me moved into the room with the closet where the bud is actually growing. our roomate who knew nothing about growing would complain about it being too hot in the room so he left the closet door shut. we switched rooms so everything should be cool

we are now about 41 days into flowering and the plants are still growing, is this normal?? the tops of some of the plants that are still growing look like shit with just white hairs and no good bud forming at all. We do have some really good bud formation but we also have some that just plain sucks. Just wondering if the plants still growing at 41 days into flowering and what could be the cause. The heat has not been an issue for the past 3 weeks or so.

i am feeding the canna nutrients, i have heard a lot of good things about the canna nutes. one of the only things i could think of is that we topped them about two weeks into flowering and shot all the hormones to the bottom branches of the plant so the top did not fill out. also we had some heat stress earlier on. i will be taking some pictures inthe next couple of hours.

alright here are some pics that i just took, you can see how there are some great buds forming and then there are some not so good ones. for some reason shit is still growing taller 41 days into flowering which bums me out. but anyway here they are.

ok this is day 46 of flowering. some of these plants are from a different section of the growing room that we are growing under t5 lighting. we started flowering these about 3 or 4 weeks after the ones in the big room were started and they are looking great. I didnt realize until i started reading all these journals that you were supposed to trim the bottom one third of the plants so they shoot the hormones to the top i wish i knew that earlier. we did that to our knew plants and they are looking really good. anyway here they are let me know what you guys think.

A light leak is when you allow light to enter your grow room when lights are out, they say the slightest of light can disturb your plants.

I have a light leak question. I red some where that worst case scenerio if you need to do somthing to your plants during dark period 5 mins tops. Is this true? Or will even a quick on off flick of the light be damaging? Also he said his plants are still growing taller during 12/12. Should your plants slow down growth in height or stop all together?

i know at the beginning of 12/12 your plants should grow quite a bit but i heard about half way through they should completely stop and start just producing bud. For some reason my plants kept growing like 40 days in. Anyway about the light leak. i never disturb my plants while dark periods but my veg room is close to my flowering room and a tiny bit of light sneaks out. When i am about 5 feet away from my plants though i cant even see them so i assumed it was basically pitch dark. Its no brighter than the moon at night, i would say even more dark.

The smallest of light leaks can be a detrimental influence - you really need to have them in absolute darkness with no disruptions. For emergency's you can use a green horticultural bulb to access them but try not to.
Fix the leek...I would say that they are still growing taller from it.

Topping them after they have turned to flower isn't that great either, you should have done that a week before the light cycle change. I have done it before and it resulted in a much later finish.

Bending them over won't hurt them, and your move of putting the taller plants to the edges is a good idea. It helps get them in the light footprint better.
