Well, i'm hooked. I plan to use LEDs for a grow two grows down the road... Definitely gonna watch this one really closely... keep it up man, they look great already...:bongsmilie:
 
oops sorry didnt relize pics were earlier in the thread. Looks good this is very interesting using LEDs to grow!
 
LED generate way less heat than even CFLs!
Dont buy that 600$ crap! For that money you can buy a setup like mine but double!
Also Im using led for veg! I will get a 400W HPS for flowering!

yeah listen to tm21thc, he might have an LED setup - but he's wise enough to know those LEDs wont do shit for flowering. ive been skeptically following this thread, and i still dont think those things are anywhere near as good as a 1000watt, or even a 400watt. the technology isnt at a point where it would be beneficial to use these things, if anyone disagrees then show me flower pics w/ LEDs.

mj89, dont waste $600 on a piece of garbage. you can get a 400watt hps for $119 at HTGSupply.com and grow weed 10x better/bigger.

mdgtptrl, how can you be hooked considering all youve seen are veg pics of sprouts?..
 
I started with a LED set-up for costs but so far I guess I am too much of a newb to get it right....
 
Grower, keep this thread updated. Im interested myself as to what you can accomplish. Very curious to see flowering and how they do. I am still going to buy a 400watt like my next check but it's cool that your doing good through this stage, im with the other guys though I dont know how effective flowering will be, but we will see!
The one thing i like, is the fact that theyre doing great now. They have a deep color and the tips are perfect. You have possibly a great grow on your hands, just treat it right. I dunno though I would go buy a 400watt just in case things start to go downhill.
But kudos though, excellent grow and I wish you luck. If it works, we may have to rethink some things ahaha.. good luck!

How do yo know its garbage? I havent seen anyone with one have you? I already have other lights including a 400 watt hps. My electric bill is sky high and I was looking for ways to combat it. 600 bucks is like nothing if you think about it. You'll make that money back in savings your first or second grow.
 
id have to agree with munch on this one blue is good for keeping the nodes close together and makes good stem thinkness to support heavy buds those seedlings look to elongated and strung out best to use daylightbulbs high blue content floros for seedlings clones get the lights right down on then lik half inch to an inch away and you have thinker busher heather ladies once your stems elongate is a bitch to fix the error night moster to btw but ive seen some half that tall and twice as bushy
 
Right now I had not think about any cooling as I would have t5s or MH!
I hope the 400HPS cool tube will give me fat flowers then!:)
