I don't understand what happens after that? Not a product degrade?as far as cloning, i agree thundercat.
The first clone off a seed, then that clones clone, then that clones clone, will probably be good.
Its after that, that I start to have a problem.
They even wear the same Genes. So LSTing, topping/fimming, scroging are all techniques not just to control space, but also to maximize your canopy. If you use any or several of these tools you it will help you to bush out you plants and develope more budding tops. Fimming is nothing more then a variation of topping as I explained several times earlier in this thread. DO NOT BE AFRAID be cause its called fuck i missed. The simple idea is to get more then 2 tops when you top the plant, you cut the growth node at a differant spot to encourage it to sprout more then jsut 2 new tops. I've never had it actually work. I've tried it several times, and each time it simply tops the plant like normal and I get 2 tops instead of multiple.
Friedrice I really don't get the idea you have of treating plants so differantly as clones versus as from seed. A clone is the exact same plant as its mom, so unless you stress the shit out of it it will be just like its mommy was. The quality, the way it grows typically, the maturity, its all the same. I agree with the idea of keeping 4 moms and flowering the others, but I don't understand why you would be so against topping clones. Its just as efficient of a way to get a clone to turn into a bushy plant as it is a seedling.
I'm not trying to rant, but I hate seeing peoples opinions get in the way of actual facts.
I believe so, but im not entirely sure.I don't understand what happens after that? Not a product degrade?
I wasnt saying I disagreed with all the techniques.Well man I'm smoking buds as I type this that come from clones that are a minimum of 10 generations deep. I lost count years ago, but I've never sparked a bowl of my WW and said man I'm just not gettin high. It has never happened. I may say I wanna get higher, but that's a whooole different story.
Also the idea that pinching or topping your plant in any way is what lead to LST. I personally don't think my plants give a crap if I top them, or pinch the stem to supercrop it, as long as I keep their roots happy, and don't do a bunch of shit at once and stress them out. I've only once that I can think of had a hermie plant, and I don't really know what caused that, it was in a room with 10 other plants, so I doubt it was something I did. Any way, LST can get you similar results with next to no stress at all.
I wasn't saying you were inciting malice, but I don't wanna see others scared away from very useful tools. I can understand being afraid of change, but change is learning. I'm afraid of change, but you'll never grow beyond where you are with out it. These forums are a great place to learn, but unfortunately you do have to be careful who you learn from and take everything people say and research it more yourself. I'm not saying there isn't a million different ways to grow, by all means to each their own.
Peace
I believe what mongo was saying is infact that NO it will not degrade. Not to put words in his post, but thats how I took it.
I have no problem at all with people having opinions, I just don't like seeing false opinions passed onto others as if they could be true. The fact that this is your opinion and grow style is exactly right, thats what you need to focus on. As I stated before there are facts and opinions in life, the difference is facts don't change as fast as seasons.
I dont mind being proven wrong, in fact i hope i am cause itll save me some time and moneylol sounds like a great plan, and I can be certain you will be happy with the results. I could possibly consider seeing a decrease perhaps over 5,10,15 years, but I would be astonished if unless you fck up the growyou saw one in 1 year. Most likely they will be very similar if not better quality as you learn more about growing. Though I strongly suggest useing the same testing for each sample so that is atleast a baseline. Its sadly a known fact that the testing done by many is extremely subject to variables and inaccuracies, and I honestly put little weight in it. Personally I would also recommend doing a little reading on plant biology, and marijuana growth that has been published by people that have done this since before you and I were likely born with tremendous success.
Ive keep a mother plant for yrs and the first clone is a good as the last. Also, clones from clones as long as i pick the best clones Ive never seen any difference,IMO as long as you pick the best clones there should be No difference!!I dont mind being proven wrong, in fact i hope i am cause itll save me some time and money
What qualifies as the best clones?Ive keep a mother plant for yrs and the first clone is a good as the last. Also, clones from clones as long as i pick the best clones Ive never seen any difference,IMO as long as you pick the best clones there should be No difference!!

Overall health, vigor, size, and root mass.I get clones tht just dont grow as good from the cloner,I call em runts. What qualifies as the best clones?
I gotcha.. i was picturing myself standing there lookin @ my mothers askin em. Which one of u bitches got the best babies lmao.. total stoner momentOverall health, vigor, size, and root mass.I get clones tht just dont grow as good from the cloner,I call em runts.
If you take 10-15 clones there all not gonna grow the same well atleast for me they dont,So i pick the best.

I'll test your potency, especially if its that dank og u got going.Yeah your probably right, only one way we can tell...
Im going to experiment this grow, and the next 3-5 harvests and see if there is any degradation in quality.
I know of a couple of dispensaries around here that can do a potency test for me, or i can buy a cannatest.
Ill take a clone to be a mother, then take two off that mother, one for flowering and one to be a new mom.
Ill do this for the next 3-5 harvests over this next year and ill report back with the results on this thread or another one.
Only way to settle it
Seriously? What do you use for testing? and do you live in california?I'll test your potency, especially if its that dank og u got going.
That temp isnt that high at all. Do you know what the lumen output is on those things?Wow, walk away from this thread for less than a day and you get lost.
Anyway, I did take the oportunity to start a bit of a journal thread in the LED Section, it can be found here; www.rollitup.org/led-other-lighting/615080-newby-led-micro-grow-w.html
Fried Rice, I used the laser temp. gun on the panels today, and at the hottest spot on the aluminum heat sink I saw 97.7F. I could easily hold my hand on the lens indefinately, and the gun said 84.5F. This being said I think I could move the lights closer, and probably let them stretch up to it a bit.
I hope you find your way to my thread, I will still be following progress here............................
And some pics of the girls today, as requested;
