Depending on your space, go for 8 (one more top) - 16 (topping twice) could be a bit tight, depending on how long in between nodes. It may be worth growing it out 2-3 nodes before topping again to allow a bit more room to develop the colas (depends on how tight they are now and when you intend to flower) -> how long are you planing to veg for? Thanks. I'm just wondering if I clone it, will it do that again? My biggest issue now is should I keep it at 4 colas or top again for 8. I still don't even know if it's female. Is there any way to find out while it's still this young?
Cloning is gonna be interesting - on my 3 header, I've let the lower node grow out to allow for clones (and turns out a third lateral did shoot, so it is 3 laterals at each node after all) - but not sure of how they next nodes will develop on these laterals. So for you, if there are four tips on the shoot (signifying a continuing of the 4 branches pattern) then your clone will also continue this. If however the later shoots do not, and are regular two tips per node, it wont. Keep an eye on it and see what it's doing. This could also effect your choice for continued topping for mainlining. If you get 4 shoots on the end of each of your current four shoots, a single further topping could go to 16 colas (NUTS!)
