about weighing my buds, im going to have to buy a scale..i cant just go on without knowing what i got but i dont want to weigh it on my friends because im giving him a nug for using his light but ive heard from some little birdies that hes expecting a certain amount..now this doesnt fly with me because while i have been using his light, i pay the electricity to run it. On a whim he goes to his hydro store with a shitload of cash in his pocket and the guy behind the counter knew it and got him to buy all kinds of shit, but he has nowhere to grow and is surprisingly ignorant about the subject of growing when we talk about the issue..i can actually see $$ in his eyes and thats not what this is about.
so basically he expects like half my harvest for using a light he purchased but cant use..ill throw him a 1/8th and his light back so ill hopefully be purchasing a scale soon. sorry for that just doesnt sit right with me, but i guess im greedy with my homegrown.

about topping and FIMing..
it was my first time doing this so i wasnt exactly sure what i was doing..I topped one to see how i did..she took a while to recover and growth to pick back up. I tried to FIM on another leave some of the new growth but it just fucked up the leaves, when they grew out half of the leaf was missing from me cutting it off. Both attempts produced the same results..the two branches closest to the cut began to grow after what seemed like a lengthy recovery period and then a new top grew out of the cut, so 3 main heads with lower branches catching up to them.
I cut them at about 6-8 inches..cant remember what nodes exactly..might should have cut earlier and then one more time before they hit the screen, but who knows.
Dirtyboy said dont top and the screen will be full of buds, I think he was maybe suggesting more of a LST approach saying once the top hits the screen start working the main stem around the screen and branches will get good light and grow strong with the plant growing horizontally...im guessing thats what he meant, he didnt really clarify.

Anyways, please do a journal with that grow..sounds quite entertaining.

I'll deffinitly get a journal up, I'm still working out the details of where I'm gonna do it. I also need to get my seeds still. I'm debating about sending them to my house, I've heard conflicting viewpoints on this, have any input anybody?

He must have been talking about lst, but it still seems like you got it right with the topping. I topped half my plants in my last grow, and I'd say they got about 10-15 % more weight on them, but I didn't scrog, it was just a straight soil grow. I tryed to FIM, and ended up getting a mutant bud. After I snipped them, one plant split into 2 main stems(also with fucked up leaves like you said), and the other plant stayed as 1 stem, but got double wide. It looked like 2 stems side by side with connective tissue inbetween it was wierd, i've never seen anything like it since. Then when I budded them, that one got this bud on top that was almost purfectly round and alittle bigger then a softball. Last time I got like 220g from 6 plants, but I only had the good light for the flowering. The veg was all done under 3 florotubes, then I "aquired" the 1000w.

I'm with you on the guy wanting half the harvest, thats bullshit. It would have been one thing if that was the understanding from the begining, but its different if he just decided that. I got my light on loan from a guy too, and I gave him 1/2 oz for letting me use it. I was supposed to return it, but after I was done with it, he was nowhere to be found. He had quit his job, and moved out of his house. His phone got turned off, and I couldn't fine him. Sucks for him, but now i've got a 1000w hps!
I'd say give your buddy 1/4 or a 1/2 which should shut him up, and it looks like you are gonna have plenty.

Did I see you say you were harvesting tomarrow? Good luck man, I wish I could be there to smell them.

ive also heard conflicting points on where to send your beans..ive never ordered any but if i was id try to find somewhere i could send them, but if i couldnt id probably send them to my house...ill be watching for the journal

there was no agreement on buddage..he wanted me to take all his stuff he bought at the hydro store and set up a hydro grow and grow the shit for him...didnt plan on paying any electricity or sharing any with me..just wanted me to grow his weed for him so he can turn around and sell it..all risk no benifit
i had to tell him fuck that..i try to tell him to make a box that he could grow a few plants in but he has absolutely no knowledge of marijuana before its bagged up and makes ridiculous statements that led me to believe that he'd never make it to harvest.

thats pretty sweet that the guy just disappeared and left that 1000w in your hands.

Anyways no offense to your friend but I would tell him to shove it sideways. Sounds like he has no clue how to grow, and dosen't understand the time you put into it. If he was my buddy he would be lucky to get a 1/8th with that attitude.

Hehe it was a great score!!! I felt bad for about the first 2 weeks when I was still looking for him, then I got over it, lol. Those babies are looking delicious man, the buds have really filled in nicely, so fat.

It sounds like you buddy might be a little dim. Wanting you to grow for him, with no reward. I might think about offering to buy it off him for some of your buds. Maybe say an oz for the light. Thats worth 400 on the street I doubt that he spent more then that on it. Then you have a light, and he get buds. Just a thought.

haha yes he is a little slow..he bought another 400w off another guy and he really believes hes going to make something happen with them so i dont think he would be willing to let me have it...and plus theres no way i could hand over an oz of my fresh herbs...maybe for a 1000w haha

i was looking at the buds on the other plant and she is coming along nicely..filling in and getting crystals, and buds have a deep purple tint with lime green on top from new growth.
anyway, when i was gently caressing each bud i ran across some male bananas..i investigated and found a total of 3 bananas in 3 buds..i plucked one just to make sure of what i was looking at and left the rest..i figure a few seeds are a good thing.

but im wondering if these 'banana' sacks are in anyway different from a normal male flower because the banana doesnt look like the pollen sacks pics from the first page of the thread. And ive grown a hermi before and the male flowers didnt look like bananas, looked like balls from a male plant.

are these bananas likely to be carrying only female chromosomes..resulting in a high % of feminized seeds?
or will the seeds be genetically hermi?
everything ive read about this seems that half the people believe youll get fem seeds, half believe youll end up with all hermies..
one more ?...is hermi-ness a genetic trait carried within the seed or is hermi-ness an affect of stress on a plant? again ive heard conflicting answers

I am not totally sure but it is heard that a female plant will try and pollinate itself when not breed with a male. But i thought you did breed some branches from each plant?
