400 watt Mh/Hps: Grow on a Budget: A Beginner's Reference

How much yeild would you get from 12/12 from seed? also how long will you be flowering it? Im just doing a small indoor grow now, with a couple CFL's and I was thinking of vegging for a month then flower for a month? What do you think? Check out my first grow! link is in my Sig! : )

Vegging it for a month would be ideal...but flowering only a month is less than half the time needed for full flower maturation. Also, keep in mind, that if left untrained, a 12/12 from seed plant will grow to a fully ripe 3 foot tall. Add a month of veg on top of that, and you're adding another foot to it...if height is an issue, try SCROG or LST + Topping...

Oh WOW! Nice pics!! And wow really?!!?! 3FT tall 12/12 from seed!? I wonder how much you will yeild off of that? I also have a dehydrator made for beef jerky and or fruits. Would it hurt the buds to dry them in that? Its a really nice one.

I actually wanna buy one of those food dehydrators...I'm sure it wouldnt' be that bad to use it for some of the buds, but not all...test it out with like a couple grams first to see how it works and let me know for sure!
 
So I LST'd the shit outta my plant this morning...it bent with no issues what-so-ever...this really helps with the undergrowth shoot up towards the light. And also, I'm almost 99% sure I saw a female pre flower...such a nice feeling seeing females! I'll post pics up later today at some point!:bigjoint:
 
Go JB30! Im to scared to try LST yet. Its my first grow and I just wanna keep it super simple. Yes I will be trying out the dehydrator with a few grams. I dont remember where I bought mine but It was only about 40$ for a good one (I want to say somewhere like sears,it waasint wallyworld) Ill put a pic up of it later on for ya. but it dries fruit and beef jerky in a few hours. I could do my whole crop probly in a day : ) and it will be the same as hanging it : ) (if all turns out the way I want,lol!)

What about harvesting before 75% of the trichomes turn golden brown? like if I HAD to cut the plant down before then,would it be able to be dried and smoked?

Yeah man, you can harvest a lil earlier...dry and smoke it, no prob...Alot of people will dissagree with me, but its your herb, you do what you want with it!
Depending on strain, you can harvest at different times. Example: Indica; 8-10 weeks general rule of thumb harvest time. When the trichs are 50/50 milky amber is best to harvest. But, if you REALLY HAVE to, you can harvest earlier when the trichs are clear/milky. This will deliver more of a cerbral buzz, like a Sativa would...you wouldnt get that "Couchlock" stone that most people want. It's all up to you. Thats the beauty of growing your own for your own personal use. Grrow to suit your own personal needs! GL man!:bigjoint:
 
Here's some pics of my newly LST'd bagseed 12/12 from seed, my new 12/12 from seed sprout and my vegging "chamber" with my Aerogarden. I know they stretched a bit, but I was only using the cfls supplied originally with the AG. I now threw in my 2 26 watt'rs (100 w ea.) Generating 3200 lumens. Daylight 6500K bulbs with a Y splitter. Time set to 18/6 3 day old sprouts. I will transplant these to my flowering room to begin a perpetual grow.
Let me know what you guys think...

Jonboy, nice going. I cant wait to see how everything comes along. I will be following. I got almost the same thing going, no aero though. Im running a 150hps in a small stealth cab. I got 3 wl white skunks, and 1 cali hash fem I lst'd one of my ws last night, this morning its already reachin for the sky. This is my first grow, but I love the idea of 12/12 from seed after reading the thread. Randy hooks it up with those tall ass 12/12'ers I got height restrictions thats why i going lst.

I'm really not too sure what the plan is from here...It's only a 1 gallon pot, so wrapping it around may not be the best thing to do...I think I'm just gonna keep it growing horizontally...I think she's just about to go into flower now, so it won't get too large. I'll post pics of the preflowers when they're obvious.
 
Oh very much so! You accually inspired me to change my entire growing plan buy stunning me with your grow! I switched to 12/12 : )

The only thing Im worried about on mine is that my stems had stretched before but now they stoped, but I dont know how to much them Thicker? I have a fan on them : ) (its only been there for like 24Hours though)

Dudes...I just had to share a cool trippy experience...I picked up "The Beatles" Rock Band this afternoon...I harvested my Little Angel today and threw her in my food dehydrator for 3 hours. I packed a nice sticky bowl and puffed on that for a lil bit and got smaked upside the head. So I figured what's the best thing to do while high and flying...but play "I am the Walrus" on rockband...I havent been so tripped out on anything since watching Pink Floyd's "The Wall" back in '94, or watching "The Wizard of Oz" to "Dark Side of the Moon." Anyways, get a few bros and smoke a few bong loads and trip out to those awesomly psychadelic Mah harashi foursome...you won't regret it!
 
I harvested my Short Stuff #1 today and yielded 17 seeds from her. She only weighed out to be like 1.3 grams...I only wanted her seeds...they're all very nicely dense and brown.

I also have an array of other strains that I want to grow now that I have a coupla succesful experiments under my belt, I now have the confidence to move on to bigger, better strains.

1.) Ministry of Cannabis Feminised 'Big Bud'
2.) G-13 Labs 'Poison Dwarf'
3.) LowLife Seeds 'Short Stuff #1'
4.) Unknown Strain Bagseed
5.) Nirvana 'Outdoor Mix'
