5+ year old seeds . . . any good?

I use an insulated zip up lunch pouch in the back of the fridge. Inside are sealed containers/zips and loose desiccant bags.
fresher seeds crack quicker than older ones for me. I wash my seeds always with a splash of bleach water/rinse and I soak in water and plant when cracked 1-3days
when that doesnt work anymore I'll try something different.

I think I've decided to charge him full price + a premium since we are located in an area where you can't get seeds.

I'll advise him to follow some of the tips you guys have shared about soaking in water and then to scuff them with a nail file.

I'm currently not able to medicate or grow (employer), but in the future I will utilize a mini-fridge for storage. I've always like collecting seeds even when I can't use them.

Wouldn't a desiccant bag dry them out though and remove any moisture inside the seed. Doesn't a seed need some amount of moisture to remain viable?

Yea just joking but this is answered over and over and i figured you know the answer since youve grown before

my seeds are in sealed containers a refrigerator is not a dry place typically. the inside of the bag maintains a lower rh than my fridge. a perfect one for my storage habits

I also have my own "dedicated" refrigerator for seeds and spore solution. I probably have enough seeds to last me for the rest of my life...and I'm still collecting. My oldest son has already called dibs on my collection when I kick the bucket!

Didn;t they germinate some of those 2000 year old hemp seeds they found in the tomb?

What shroomies to you cultivate?

I like the Mckenaii and the Little Penis for cubies. Then some of the stupid hard to grow and stupidly powerful wood grown strains....And then there is Psilocybe Tampanensis and I get that grown by mycologists from the Netherlands....I'm still trying to pry the way to run them out of them..

I grow mainly cubies. I have a huge spore print collection. I have tried the wood lovers (with very limited success), and I grow Shitakes and Buttons to cook with. I've tried the Tampanensis a few times, but they never formed the "stones" I was hoping for. I use a pressure cooker, but otherwise my "sterile" method is rudimentary at best. I only grow a couple times a year, but when I do I innoculate 100 1/2 pint jars at a time, which insures a good measure of success. I've been growing the cubies for over 30 years.

Scientists in Russia ,recently germinated ,2000 yr old seeds , but first they were treated with Gibberalic Acid
Dont know what the seeds were
