I might have to enter too, with my Grape Scott OG cross. Wish we were doing the new 24 oz cups though, they're awesome. But I will abide. 16 oz coco perlite it is. Doubt I can compete with scrog though, unless I do scrog too. :mrgreen:

I love all these idea's of how one cup will preform better than another cup, if you only did this... LOL 90% of it is genetics the other 10% is made up of approx 1 million different things. Can't wait to see some of these crosses come out... oh and on a side note I'm looking for to bring another few prizes to the cup like 1st thru 5th get prizes and a blue ribbon prize possibly. It all depends on how gracious the sponsors are willing to be. Let me know if you guys know of any companies that may be willing to toss a prize our way :grin:

Send out some emails to the folks at Rapid LED (Onyx), Area 51, Apache Tech, Advanced LED, Vipar, and Growers House. Point out who we are, what we do, and what a good promotional opportunity this contest could be for them.

With a DWC, don't the roots hang down into the res? You see, the roots have to remain inside the cup...so a DWC may be a little impractical for this comp.

Its neat to see everyone's ideas of how they're going to do this...but as TKO said, it is about 90% genetics with cups this small. I think the people that did more fancy techniques/medium last comp had the most issues, and those who kept it simple had the most success.

Im running a vipar and if anyone else is running any of these brands you mentioned it actually could be good promotion for the companies anyway they may have more incentive to be part of.

I was thinking little net cup in the top of the solo cup with hydroton then stock a little airstone in the bottom of the cup and use the bottom half as a res. Or modifying a tube out the bottom that emptys into one of my larger reservoirs and the root would stillvjyst hang in the bottom of the cup. Would that be legit for this comp?

I will be running one of my Area 51 RW-75s, love this thing lol. Still making my mind up genetics wise since that does play a large role but I got some time to decide, definitely gonna be fems for me though. All the reg seeds I have I am hoping to find a keeper from and cant do that if I put her in the cup

Good question...I would cede to the elders of the comps on this matter: hyroot, psuagro, or even the mod TKO, would be in a better position to answer this Q than I.

I would say as long as the roots are fully contained inside the 16oz. party cup then we should be good.
