For building your own LED lights:
1W - 3mm or 5mm
Red - 620-630 nm
Blue - 460-470 nm
angle is generally 120 degrees. You can focus it a bit but I wouldn't go below 85 degrees.
you'll have to find the right combination of colors. I would say about 30% blue and the rest red. It'd be trial and error, but you would save hundreds of dollars building your own lights. and you could save us hundreds of dollars by posting how you did it.
edit: actually, it'd probably be best to have some kind of control for blue light as they get older they'll need more red.

Man that purple is purple!!!!! Well done man! You using any additives for the purple? Like Snow Storm or Purple Max or anything?
Those first plants need a little cal/mag you think?

Thanks man, yeah my hydro girls needed a bit stronger nute mix than I was giving them. I changed it up some yesterday when I changed all the reservoirs, we'll see how they like it.
The purple girls are from my buddies grow in the mountains. I spent a couple days and nights up there and I assure you, they're purple because it gets f***ing cold at night/in the morning. But I know that he doesn't use any additives to make it purple. Just organic stuff like bat guano, ashes, and other stuff he was telling me about but I was too stoned to understand what the hell he was talking about.
But yeah man, them purps are PURPLE. No question. Even his blue dream is purple'd out of its mind.
Smells DELICIOUS!

Did you ever get a total number from this grow?
It seems LEDs are good for continual harvest. Meaning you harvest the top, then a little further down, and so on and so on
I havent weighed the last of the Morning Daze yet. its all still drying. But thanks for reminding me, I'll be sure to get a number on here when I do get it all weighed.
and yeah I agree that the LEDs would be better for a continual harvest kinda thing....but I'm gonna stick with the HPS, and keep the LEDs for the veg cycle.

HEY GUYS, sorry for the late intro but grows are all looking outstanding, glad to be a new part of this great community.
Ok so I have a medical grow going for New Mexico, I am a caregiver. I have a 10x10 growroom with 4 1000 watt hps lamps also have t5s around the entire perimiter to add addtl blue spectrum, i chose to grow autoflowers initially but also added some others to the batch. I am using the advanced nutrient line with iguana juice grow and bloom, voodoo juice, pirhana, and tarantula, currently am feeding iguana grow, cal mag grow, b52, voodoo juice, pirhana and tarantula. My autoflowers are (iranian, iranian X g13, iranian X chemdog all from DR.GREENTHUMB.) now in their appx 7th week of FULL veg no flowering yet, and tallest is curretnly 26 1/2" tall, smallest about 21". I also have grandaddy purple, chemdog, LA woman, and Herijuana all from clones except the GDP which is from seed, id love to get some input, ill be putting pics on here shortly, i do have tons of videos constantly updated

Wow King Very Very impressed with how they all turned! Was some what skeptical after all the research I did but you made me a believer! Definately a good possibilty I will grab some LED's for my next grow. My electricity bill is killing me these days...doesn't help they just installed the new meters! Hopefully you can scope a ligit spot for the next grow. How did you like the Chocolope?...did you say 10 weeks flowering? Thinking about grabbing that strain for the next grow but not really sure about the chocolately taste/smell! Got couple Kush strains in mind...ehh we'll see.Your boys Blue Dream is Grump!!! Blue Dream one of my favorite strains...got couple growing. Got the journal up and going show stop by and check it out!

Thanks man, yeah the LEDs definitely won't make the buds as fat as HPS will, but honestly I think they work well enough for how little power they use. Yeah that chocolope is an amazing strain - smells so good, I wouldn't compare it to a chocolatey smell, more of a dank fruity smell...I guess it has more of the Cannalope genetic smell to it...idk tho. And yeah I'd say it's done around week 10...though I let some of the buds fill out a couple weeks after the initial harvest and that really helped the smaller buds fatten up.
I gotta say your setup is looking pretty legit man, beautiful girls you got there!

Thanks bro appreciate it! Lots of help from cool peeps on RUI like you helped me out a lot! Thinking about grabbing some Chocolope but really depends on the other strains I get. I would like to keep them all finishing within a week of each other. I would really like to keep a sativa strain going every grow but I'm very partial to the couch lock of the Indies! But since you said more of a mellon smell/taste might have to go with Chocolope this round. Hoping to grab some new clones here by then end of the week but have to figure out where to grow them 1st LOL. I am really considering LED's for my veg tent. Grabbing 2 90w UFO's. I have been doing a lot more research while following your grow and seems that there are a lot of people out there selling shit LED's that don't truely contain the correct wavelengths for weed let alone any plant! So sorta wait and see at this point.
