Oh man you are so lucky you didn't do that. There is nothing worse than a sick kid. I have two that still haunt my dreams.

I don't mind working at the CLI. But I mostly wrote C++ although I've written Java etc... You write in the language most amenable to the job. I loved following the obfuscative C contest. I stayed far away from anything requiring me to work in house. I've worked remotely for the majority of my career.

I'd love to see your setup. Frankly it all sounds like a lot of work but that's how you get the ROI, it takes hard work. That's why I'm just a hobbyist that does some breeding. Oh and I still have a small webhosting company on the side.

CLI is easy. I taught myself well before I learned anything from the military or college by doing some coding. Python, colbalt, HTML, JAVA and some C+. Just never got big into coding. I sat mainly in sever rooms. No home stuff. Though it was fun setting up some point2point stuff in several cities in Michigan. set up the system to pull dash cam footage off of police cars as the hit the garage in one of the towns. Spent many a night deploying a shit ton of servers in creepy ass town halls with no lights lol.
I haven’t updated much in a bit but search currently in my world.
