6th Official Party Cup Grow Competition Registration Thread!

What exactly are the main differencea between canon and Nikon with similarly compared models? Or is it really just personal preference?
It's mostly preference in lenses, feature sets, and yeah personal preference. Every year one model is better than the other in one small way or the other. Usually once you invest in lenses or a full frame body, you tend to stick to one brand out of convenience. Right now Nikon has the best feature sets, body weight and arguably lens glass. Sony is kind of shocking everyone with their mirrorless dslr's and their low-light ISO's. Especially if you're into shooting video with your dslr. When Canon comes out with their updated line, they will probably steal the show for the time being.

I love my Rebel t5i. The touch screen is one of my fave things. I've also got a 5D III, but with the right glass any body can be killer. But the t5i does take some great shots :D

Yeah I'm waiting for the 5D IV to drop, but I do love my 7D. And it's true, with the right glass, you can make just about anything look amazeballs. I'd start with a 50mm prime if you don't get a kit lens with your 5500.

That is a bitchin' lens. That ring lite seems kind of crazy expensive for what it is? But then I've never had the chance to use one.

Once you've had a chance to use one you will never not want to again :D But yea I'm saving my pennies for that lol.

Hey All,

When do we start, or is this competition already in progress? I'm in. Only photosensitive's right?

Peace,

Gonna have to go buy a $500 camera to even have a chance at this competition, it seems. meh 3mp phone not gonna look as god as the rest of u fuckers....:cuss:
Good composition/light with a smart phone camera can best someone with a dslr on auto. Unless that someone is using a full fame/RED camera with zeiss lens, then we all might be fucked.

is starting germination... oh say, today or tomorrow so that they sprout come Feb 1-3 frowned upon? It says official germ date that you write on the cup is "day of sprout" so as long as they don't pop up before Feb 1 they should be fair game, right?

Sorry for the impatience I just have a lot of wasted and unused space in my cab that I would like to utilize asap

No sir that is not okay.... They cannot be germinated until 2-1-15.... That means they have to stay dry until then!
