I love all types of dance music\

but if we get into jungle/dnb the music was very underground and much more associated with drugs and gang violence.

I remember early 2000s I just started working and these deep scarberia (a name for scarborough) guys asked what I am involved with. mind you these were big fucking dudes running the hoods and shit. I told them I was a junglist and they backed the fuck away, I remember one time walking home it was about 4 am and all of sudden I get grabbed from behind and I hear "you going to die bitch" I swang around knife in my hand and it's the nigs from my work. I never felt more afraid in my life.

these guys were the epitome of black crack dealers from south africa/jamaica/trinidad/ and one canadian

It was happy hardcore circa 2001-2002. John Gotti's Revenge was one. But not the one In thinking of. It had lovely female vocals in it like Eye Opener.

was it a local dj song or international?

most good happy hardcore comes from the u.k and during the early 2000s it was concentrated to a bunch of songs from the 90's as the vocals. different dj\s did differnet mashups.

atleast over here. Let me check my cd collection I own a ton of mass produced discs
