Why would I need an intake.

The Fan is 465 CFM.

If I can pull in as much cold air as I can spit out whats the problem?

I'm re-mounting the fan tomorrow but both lights are on for now. Temps of the room dont get above 73 at the moment while the lights are staying a little bit warmer, but not much. For sure going to be to warm to run 18/6 for too long but at this rate I dont think i'll have any problems.
Where are you measuring that temperature? That's the temp at the top's of the plants?

If your fan is 465CFM you need a 200-250CFM intake fan. It will make things much more efficient, but I don't think that this is what's causing "the droops".

I think it's watering as well, but I still thank myself everyday for going hydro, I hated soil and all of it's touchyness even though it's supposed to be easier.

Nowadays I can go 4-5 days without looking at my girls and I know they are doing just fine. Timers are a beautiful thing.

Ya its funny you mentioned the intake fan. I went and checked on my girls and the tempature of the room is about 78 degrees and the tops are pretty warm.

Right now im measuring the temperature inbetween both lights - about 10 inches up.

You can see the gauge in the picture on top of the humidifier.

I opened my door and put a little fan I have blowing cold air into the room and it brought the temperature down pretty quickly.

I think once I remount my fan ill have a lot more CFM blowing through those lights.

They still dont look very happy though.

Temps of the room or temps of the canopy?

I have a hard time believing people who say "temps of the canopy" because just the "top layer" of the plants isnt what needs correct temps.

I was assuming there surroundings needed to be like 76* ideally, while the light blasting on the tops can be a little hotter... I mean, ANYONE without an air-cooled hood, there temps probably rise high above 76* at canopy level...unless the light is raised a good 24+ inches, but even then the light is still going to create warm-air.

Now if your canopy level is 76*, the REST of your room is FOR sure ALOT colder, because the warmth of the light is giving you the reading.

So right now my air temperature is around 78 while the canopy temperature is probably 10* hotter, but my buddies last grow (2 1000w, non-air cooled hood) I thought it was hotter then shit at canopy level when I put my hand down there and his shit turned out great!

my whole cab will get to 83* with a non-aircooled hood. I just have to leave the door open and have a fan blowing towards the light and out the door. It works for me. It works better than my Vortex fan exhausting believe it or not.

I hang my thermometer in the middle of the cab and thats how i judge it. I also place the back of my hand above the canopy, if my hand can stand the heat than so can the plants

also, heat rises, so if your just measuring the top of the canopy and its around 76-80* then you know the rest of the plants are fine since it will be a few degrees cooler below the canopy. So thats usually why people concern themselves with the whole canopy thing.

True that well put. I keep my thermometer at plant level but it's for sure warmer right at the center / top of the canopy rather then where the temp gauge is.

Its barely warm on my hand let alone hot. I think I can lower the lights even more.

Thanks for the input vapor and everyone else.

Thanks Flojo :D

Fosho. Once you start flowering you will see them bitches getting alot stronger. Its amazing how heavy buds can get and how much the stalks will beef out and the leaves fill in. Comin close

I measure the heat at the top of the canopy because that's the warmest point the plants come in contact with. I try to keep that temperature below 85 degrees. The bottoms of the plants never stress about heat, it's always the tops. That's why we measure the top of the canopy.

I run an A/C so that I can keep the top of my canopy @ about 80 degrees, yup, the room is actually 65 degrees away from the plants and my 400w lights are 6" off the tops of my plants.

If you aren't keeping your lights that low it's not as much of a concern, but I have found that if no matter what I need to cool my room w/ my A/C and in the last 4 weeks of flower if I keep a 400w light down on the plants, it outperforms my buddies 1000w he has to keep at 24" w/ air cooled hood and no A/C.

I live where it's warmer so I don't have the luxury of choosing not to use the A/C for most of the year, so I accept the cost and love the nugzz that come out when the light is sittin on top of the plants.

roots dont like cold i saw a great improvement in growth when i got my soil temps up a bit :) but the canopy heat needs to be kept in check too..:)

Oh definitely, I grow in hydro with trays and my roots don't soak in a cold pot.

Back on track...how are they looking now that you've stopped watering?

They look droopy. Top 3-4 inches of all my soil is dry. Pots are still a little heavy. Pics from tonight.

also, its not good to use the same water. You should feed them with fresh nutes and fresh water every time. Don't leave water/nute solution sitting around because nutes go bad quick and pH fluctuates. So make sure your giving them fresh "food"

with organic ferts i think you need to keep them fresh but with chems it can sit around so the chlorine can keep exaporating!

you can get cheap ph strips at the pet store around 5bux!

sorry but thats straight up bad advice. Dont ever leave your mixed nutes sitting around.by the way, organic or chemical, theyre all nutrients whether your getting them (N for example) from chicken manure or a chemical base nutrient. If you use an enzyme like multizym or sensizym, it will go bad very quickly in water if let sitting.
