Things are looking good... I am definitely thinking trying to add nutes in on top of supersoil really fucked me on the apollos (yellowing/burn) -- though they are definitely fine for the stage they're at just not optimal with almost no yellowing like I had hoped/wanted. Live and learn. The White Russian which I believe has had little or no added nutes due to her time in flower is really plumping up with dense buds that have visibly gotten bigger and thicker in just the last 2 or 3 days and she's had very little yellowing compared to the others. The only time she has had an issue with that is when she did not get watered on time and wilted at the bottom. Hoping that lasts. I topdressed her with some super soil this morning. I can't remember if I did at 3 weeks but I didn't see any of my new supersoil mix on top (easy to tell with the crab shell mixed in) so I went ahead and did some. She has space for one more topdressing of soil that I'll give her again in 3 weeks before the final fattening phase. If the high matches how she looks, I may have to order more seeds since I didn't get a clone. Ordering from the original breeder may have been a good move on my part
Apollo #1 is starting to really fatten up finally and getting closer to the size of #2. I am pretty sure now she is just a later flowering pheno. She has a more lemon pledge smell and her pistils are a little more orangey/off-white than #2, who has fairly white pistils and today I finally detected a real nice fruit punch scent. I had to add another tie-down stake to #1 and tie several buds up as they've added so much weight the last few days the branches can't support it (lower branches I trained up to the canopy -- some of which are bigger than the upper branches and close to main cola size despite being from the bottom few branch pairs). So I think based on how things are going that #2 has slightly more indica expression in it resulting in the quicker flower time and earlier development -- she looks like a 56-63 day plant -- I don't think she will be done in the next week so it's looking more like 63 days. Her buds are more foxtail-ish with whiter pistils. She is the most hardy of the 2 phenos as far as being able to deal with environmental/owner induced stresses. #1 has more spear shaped colas with the lemon pledge scent and a white-orange huge to the pistils. She looks like she will go at least 70 days. Taller and stretchier. So far from my test samples I am guessing the #1 is going to be the more potent of the two -- she seems to be the more crystal-ly higher THC pheno, but we'll see. They're both covered in trichs. My avatar is the UNDERSIDE of a #1 leaf. FYI - these buds (esp #2) are as fat or fatter than ANY buds I ever grew before of Apollo 11 under my 600w HPS -- and my apollos were not topped as many times and turned into bushes like these were (meaning topped bushes should have smaller buds than single main cola buds...) -- so I'm saying these cheap ol' blackstar LEDs can grow some damn weed. Even with many of the trichs still clear its better quick dried than the commercial shit I buy.
Look at all those fat buds!!! I clipped the last of the small bottom branch buds that are actual branches -- all but one were from #1. I am hanging the branches in a closet to do a full dry on... I'm gonna be out of commercial shit in the next couple of weeks so want to get them prepped to get me through til harvest rather than cutting and quick drying on the toaster which who knows how much THC it wastes.
White Russian -- mmmmm good
