the main culprit is genetic mutation.

just as with pot plants, you are going to get some negative mutations, and some positive ones.

laws and restrictions come about because whiners cant accept defeat.

so they take the laws, that are supposed to keep the strong from getting violent, and they start to morph the laws that "me losing my job and my life saving and my kids starving is violence... we need some sort of regulations!"

In this life, there will always be at least one loser, where there is a winner... thats the definition of a win, you cant have it without someone else getting a loss.

what you are wishing for... spoiles a population, as their economy soars, and over time, they turn into a bunch of whiney panzies (current america) who have no clue how good they have it, and have no clue what to wish for...

they are idiots who cant seem to understand in this life, in this universe... there is ALWAYS a tradeoff... if you win more, it means someone else has to lose more.

if the law protects this person, it has to restrict this person.

To the religious angle I think CJ does have a point about it holding us back.

If you think about what religion really is, it at the deepest roots is the human quest to place the things we do not understand into a different category (god). But once something comes along that better explains why that is the case (like evolution vs god plopped us here a few thousand years ago) it cannot be embraced because it ruins the illusion that was set up around 'god'.

So everytime we find a new advancement, the religious tend to fight against it, because it is chipping away at the things they put into the bible to explain it already, so the knowledge stagnates.

But I don't get to witness it firsthand because she knows I can parse most any religious nonsense apart like a scythe through wheat. I hear it 3rd person ... she's so sure of herself...

It's hard to even imagine in my mind (6000 year old earth).

What if we treated everyone the same, absolutley equal. I would like that, we could start off with religion, race, gender, political beliefs. Inact a fair tax with absolutely no loopholes. I believe everyone should pay their fair share. I am sick of the wealthy that have a tax code full of loopholes. I am also tired of the not so wealthy that are convienced they pay taxes, when the fact is they end up getting a lot more back then they paid in. I believe the goverment has a place, a very small place, that does not include trying to provide for everyones wants/needs.

There are entire generations that have been raised from the 60's on that believe the govt is the answer and that "others" should do the heavy lifting for them.

I know what you're saying but the leech levels are too high to pull that off today.

In determining "fair share" would you want the people that draw a salary from the system to determine what a "fair share" is? That seems like the old adage of allowing the Fox to mind the henhouse.

A persons salary is strictly between the employer and the employee, and in a public corp, the shareholder. ... no one else should have a say.

If Exxon wants to pay its CEO 10 trillion $$$, that's their business. It's their money.....
