The Guatemalan has some fat leaves. There really isn't much information on this strain anywhere including the ACE forum. But I did find some information and it seems to start out that way with narrower leaves as the plant grows bigger. I was going to cross it with some Chitrali but I had zero germination from the pack of 12 seeds I got from RSC. I know it's not me because I never have issues and the Chitrali was the only thing that didn't germinate out of a variety of different genetics. So I ended up starting some Hindu Kush that I'll use instead. I might shoot the guy at RSC an email and let him know of the germination issue. But it doesn't really matter at this point. I have plenty of other stuff to work with.
I also started some Ethiopian from the seed reproduction run I made a couple years ago. I only did one plant and don't really care if it's male or female. Either way I'll use it in another cross to either pollinate or be pollinated.
This is the first grow I've ever done where I started under LED. I'm using a Vivosun VS1000 and things are going fine. The leaves seem a little odd looking compared to growing under an HO T5 but I'm not going to worry about it. Once they go under the 600 watt HPS it won't matter. They're basically healthy. I don't have a clue regarding the VPD, PAR, XYZ, etc... nor do I even care. I'm not bothering with a bunch of charts trying to dial this and that in. I couldn't tell you the humidity or temperature in the tent either. It doesn't matter to me. Good enough.
