It's kind of messed up if they limit how many people a DG can provide for though. Arbitrary.

Also I read something about being forced to buy seeds from LPs. That's some bullshit right there, which is actually a pretty big deal. Granted it was from HC previously, but that was bullshit too. Impossible to enforce as well.

Pretty limiting genetic wise.....since the old mmar gene pool was quite deep....
and probably still is...but the lp's were not interested in collecting special genetic's
just the one's they could make commercially viable.

The people who have been in this industry know that this type of deal wont slide very well.
There is no "King" in this deal! ;)
It is a freee for all or soon will be!

Not really. No different than mmar rules. Same with seeds, we were always supposed to purchase them from pps and we all know how effective that was. Our community will continue to supply our own with seeds. There are changes to be made, like the requirement to seek doctor and HC permission to treat yourself, but absolutely none of the doomsday scenarios predicted by the rabid anti-Trudeau crowd materialized. Every Canadian patient can now grow, that's a win . Interesting that they had no comments on yesterdays developments after being so consumed with trying to convince us the opposite would happen. I wonder why?
 
Other than the seed bull-shit the overall program looks good on the surface. Limits based on 5x indoor and 2x outdoor per gram of prescription is quite reasonable @12-13g per plant, I can do that in a party cup ffs. With 2x licenses it would be triple my current capacity in plant numbers and take me from ~lb./month to 3 lbs., that should be enough - lol

As always with any government program caution is recommended and the details on some items like inspections, insurance risks and the like will need to be flushed out once the program is in place.

Personally I'll stay under the radar until both this program and legalization have been in place for a while to see what gotchas there are. Possibly remain under the radar because I don't trust my name/address in any government database, particularly HC's.

But for the masses and those not willing to risk growing without a license this is looking pretty good. A good win, some flaws like the seed thing which should be easily corrected with the first case should they be stupid enough to try and convict someone for growing non-LP shwagg. But overall nice win people, get growing!

Anyone think a thread for medical growers wanting to get up and running would be of benefit? Lot's of folks would probably want to try it but may not know where to start. Anything to help boycott LP's would be a good thing imo.
 
Saw a comment about only being able to grow from seed in another article. Does anyone know whether this is true or not? I haven't seen anything in the HC communication indicating that you couldn't grow from clones. Only that you'd need to buy seeds or clones from LP's, the sentence below is the only thing I've seen from HC's communication so far.

that would apply to anyone new? As MMAR have the strains they need already and seeds and clones and and and and and and they dont need LP shwag sales of any product they have.

2.that any drs are now gonna stick to the 5 g max ..

Legalization will follow the same path with limited personal gardens. It can't be 'safe' for one group of people to grow a plant and then claim the rest of the population can't do the same. I'm sure you will continue to argue I'm wrong there too, because...well....just because. Oh well, carry on...

It will get easier to find a willing doc as the use of cannabis becomes more normalized. With recent reports showing a decline in opiate use due to cannabis use for pain management, I expect it will become as easy as getting pain pills...maybe easier. I'm guessing the same number of dr.'s stick with the 5g max as did before...very few.
