Doesn't need to be mixed fresh. Stores well. Many health food stores have this. You can make it at home too.

health stores? really?
is it the proper dosage to use with the plants?

First time I experimented with it to make feminized seeds. It wasn't as strong as the forums recommend. But still worked. I can't remember if the next colloidal silver I bought was recommended strength, but it worked too.
It's a very strong antimicrobial, found in first aid/ medicines shelves in health food stores. It will cure staph A infections without antibiotics, even when cellulitis is spreading. Seen this with my own eyes when living in the tropics. There used to be bandages with a silver mesh in the gauze. They absolutely soothed cuts and healed really quick without Neosporin needed.

there used to be a cream specifically made for burns (when i was a medic in the airborne 20+ yrs ago) called "silvadene" cream. had silver suspended in it. would put on 2nd and 3rd degree burns to keep infection from taking a foothold. the healing process is so very long. worked great for other invasive wounds in wet/jungle environments (as you mentioned).

gotta wonder who the first guy that put some suspended silver on a plant was thinking... and did he get the desired results or did something unexpected happen?

will have to see if there are any in the stores near me. do you need to spray it on or drip it? seems most of this stuff is in dropper bottles.

You guys are talking about two different things. CS and STS are not the same. Once mixed STS does not store well. Colloidal Silver has a much longer shelf life.

As for having to mix the STS prior to using it's really not a big deal. It only take a few minutes and you can mix just what you need. The individual chemicals (silver nitrate and sodium thiosulfate) come in a granular form and have a pretty long shelf life. It's only after their mixed together into a solution of STS that it needs to be used fairly quickly. I don't know the length of time the solution remains viable but the longest I've had any sitting around was about 30 days and it worked fine.

I use STS but have used CS in the past. I'll likely never use CS again but it does work and for many STS isn't an option as they are unable to acquire the chemicals. For CS all you need is a couple pieces of silver and a power source to make your own CS generator. If you're able to source the chemicals STS is the way to go.

I recently read on this site, that when treating a plant with STS , don't let any of the STS drip into the soil or whatever medium you are using.
