:wall: My lil babies are looking a little ruff. It's been one week now since i cut them. Here's the specs:

  • Cut 45 degree, and cut up the middle about 1/2-3/4", dipped in clonex then in RW (that was in ph'd 6.0 water, and shook free of most all water) Note: in a few cubes that the hole maybe was a little big i pushed the clone down into the RW a little to stabilize it.
  • 4 2' T5 bulbs (the skinny bulbs)
  • RO water, about 6.5 gallons. I put 3ml total of H202, and 3ml total GH Rapid Start in there for shits and giggles.
  • 2 foot long air stones
  • sprayers set to spray 4 times a day for 5 mins. And the RW seems definitely wet enuf. The guy who i got the instruction from to make this machine on Youtube said he runs his 4 or 6 times a day but for 30 minutes! That has to just SOAK the RW...
  • Temps basically stay at where its at in the pic.

I mean, they havent FALLEN OVER or anything YET. Its been one week, what do you guys think? Hopefully im being paranoid. But they have basically looked like this since like a half hour after they were cut.

THANKS!!! :weed:

My first thought is humidity too low----get a dome and keep rh 90-95%.

What is your water temp?

Why are u using rock wool? (I hate that stuff)

How long between taking cuttings and into your cloner?

Way too much light for cuttings. A small cfl is more than needed. I would also say ditch the rockwool, nothing but problems. Just use net pots and collars.

Ya I can crank up the humidifier in that closet to get it pretty close to 85%. I dont have a dome big enuf for that whole top of that, dont know if the ones you can get would cover that.

Water temp is most likely about close to the room temp so id say 70-74 F. Thats why i wanted to splash in a lil h2o2.

Using RW cuz i was following a dudes youtube vid. Honestly i dont think i like RW either man... it always seems just soaked..

Took cutting, dipped in clonex, then put in RW and into the cloner, time taken until it got some water sprayed could have been about10-20 min. (granted the RW was still "moist")

Too much light huh? Ok i didnt think that would be, but also didnt really think about it. Think i should just lift it? I mean I bought it for this purpose.. Dont have CFL's and honestly im dont buying stuff til i can get a harvest done here.

So now that they are IN the RW tho and have been for a week, I cant just take them out can I? I'm definitely going to do it that way the next time. I've had you tell me this a couple times and have been reading some threads where they are getting 100% success.

SS1 is right about the T5s-----if u don't have floros then raise the T5s up to around 16".

Understand about wanting to harvest before spending more $.

I run my aero cloner 15 sec on, 15 min off.

Is this the first using this type of cloning------getting cuttings to root is the most delicate stage of of plant life, IMO.

I built my cloner using a Bontonicare 2'x2' tub lid and dome fed with micro jet sprayers. Ordered the lid without holes to drill my own 1.75" holes for a snug fit for the neoprene inserts.

Ok. I'll raise the light then for sure. Ya man... i Keep doing things one way and then fiding out i should have done it another way... sigh, fml.. lol

New found NOTE!! My buddy just told me the damn time that is hooked up to the water pump can only be set in 15 minute increments. So for a week now they have been getting 15 mins 4 times a day! *FACEPALM!!* I'll be changing that tonight. I hope they didnt fricken drown...

Getting cuttings is the easiest part of growing. What other stages can u just do it and forget it? None. I dont even look at my cloner for the first 10 days after filling it.

i've seen the too much light thing, i gotta say, i've cloned with success in a 600 watt hps 2-3 feet from the clones and it still rooted.

I'm running a cloner just like this one (DIY). I put my clones in last Thursday with regular tap water and I leave it running 24/7. It's my first time using it so I'll let you know how it goes/when I get roots.

Many good pointers here but I will leave you one as well , Place your fresh cuts into a glass of water for a day , then put them into the cloner and they will not wilt from shock

Why use net pots? What function do they serve? Why not just use the collars (neoprene inserts like used in a power cloner?)

The net pots continue on to veg and flower. U can start that way using just the collars in the cloner but then u have to transfer to a media or netpot.

I chose a different route in order to completely eliminate all medium (except for starting seed) in my show.

From aero cloner to veg tubes to tubes in flowering. All the veg and flower tubes are suspended and easily spread apart using box rail and rollers.

the pics give an idea of what's going on.

How do they look now?
This was like half hour after the sprayers were on for 4 mins.

Notice i took of the extra fan leaves that were weighing some of them down. Sigh.... I jsut want the to roooooot  I wish I would have jsut tucked them in the collars, no rw... fuuukkkkk. But if they arent FALLING over or dying, they are going to end up rooting yes?
