AeroGarden Guide/FAQ v 2.0

thnx lurkmaster that answered all my questions! i have 2 plants going i think 1 is a male though but im using everything that came with the aerogarden6 still, just to get the hang of it. but im def. going to get new nutrients and the airstone and stuff soon
 
where can i buy just grow nets and sponges? this isnt for the aerogarden, so anything similar, or what other people use would be fine.
 
so i got a pump with a airstone, fan, temp guage thats always between 70 to 75, and im dissolving my nutes then pouring them in. and my plants are looking great. but the stems look weak and shriveled kinda white to brown colored, what does that mean?
 
:-?I changed some things around and the stems are now white to light green so i guess what i did worked! one more question haha sry one of my plants has two round looking leaves and in the middle of them on top of the stem has a weird leafy fan thing going on does that mean its a male

I got white hairs popping out of all the nodes of my plants, how long before visible large buds will start growing? Also is I got a new aerogarden growing some clones, however one of those roots has furry stuff all over it but looks healthy, is that early sign of mold??

Give em some times, you wont really notice big growth of bud until the last couple weeks when the swell up before finishing. I dont think that is mold, just the roots, mine kinda look furry too haha:weed:
 
Got Aerogarden classic at target for 40 bux, cant find a cheaper cloning machine out there. I was stunned when I saw that just had bought that one I am using to flower in right now used for 70, and got a new one for 40. Yall might want to check up with targets in yalls area, real good deal.
 
I gotta a newbie question....

Im TRYIN to start my 2nd GROW!! but my seeds are takin for ever to germ!!!

Im using the papertowel/ziplock bag to germs. Some have cracked but are barely pokin out of the seed shell... I put them in the paper towel on Saturday.... should I give them more time?? or should I put the ones that cracked into the AG...

I think im just gettin anxious?? Any feed back would be great you fuckin homos...

is some havnt germed yet, they probably rotted, take of a whiff of a couple of them that havnt germed and you'll know what im talkin about haha, i would just start the ones you got
 
Yeah... I put 4 of them into the AG last nite.. lets see what happens, the tap roots were barely pokin out of the seed shell.. Am I going to have to remove the seed shell myself or wil it come off as it grows... My first time around the tap root was real long and the shell had come off... Will it take a few days to actually grow out of the shell?? Just curious... I'll be hawkin them either way

I had one that sprouted with the shell still in place. I was going to remove the shell, but thought I should just let Mother Nature take care of things. It never grew further, and when I finally removed the shell myself, it was done growing. So I tossed it, and when my next one sprouted, I gently removed the shell immediately. At the least, I wouldn't let it stay that way for more than a couple of days, tops.

Yea you can always help the seeds out, but be careful, cause on my current grow, the OGK had trouble and when i tried takin off the seed, i ripped those first two lil leaves in half :shock:

but she's doin great not
 
got it... im gonna deshell them bitches now....

I also have some more germon in a shot glass.. just in case. Ive never germed like that.. Where should I keep the shot glass... dark or light>>??

I tried a shotglass germ with an AG sponge/net in it and some water to keep it moist.

Took a while to sprout, I just stuck it on 12/12 with my other plant , the seed is in the dark inside the sponge, then when it sprouts it should be on a light cycle and it shouldn't stretch very much.

I was wondering how important the air stone and pump is. Any pictures of people's set ups would be sick. Thanks
 
you can grow with out one, but its all beneficial, i would get one, i think there is a diagram on the first page
