air pumps and supplies are pretty pricey. my suggestion look for you coolest local hydro store to see if you can get some deals. usually if you secure that hydro store as your place they throw you a discount. if not let me know i get 20 % if you are in my area.

I'm sorry but I'm trying to understand the need for the figure 8 cord. Can't you just hook the whole AG up to a timer on an extension cord like you do with Christmas lights? Sorry for probably a reallu dumb question, but I don't have any experience with electrical wires.

Can somebody please explain to me how to transplant the seed into the aerogarden baskets? What filler needs to be used? There was something said about sponges. Thanks.

The AG should come with lil grow sponges
And what you do is, take something to poke a whole all that way thru the sponge so when you plant the seed, the root can find it way down the sponges easier. As you can see from the pic, each sponge has a lil hole. When you germinate your seed, you simply plant the seed with the tap root facing down into the hole.

First of all, thanks for this great forum and tutorial. This tutorial made me buy the Aerogarden and i started to grow with it on 27 February this year.
I have a small problem with my leaves tho... it seems they are loosing their green and create some rusty spots. I tried making a descent photo of the problem but my camera doesnt seem to work well atm.
Im growin on dried pigeon shit (my version didnt came with tabs
) and only till today i checked the PH which was 7.5, I immediatly got myself a test kit and i brought it back to 5.9
I also added manganese and potassium today. Can anyone tell me if im missing out on something now because i dont want my little plant to die
Edit : Btw im growing on 250W CFL

On pigeon shit? Why don't you buy a GH kit for your hydro? I'm not a pro but by my book looks like burned patches from light or a deficiency of some sort. Just wait for an expert to help you out . What type of a system you bought?

Thanks for your suggestions... I added some pictures so you have an idea about my light distance. I tried to made some better pictures off the problem but this is the best i can get atm.
Ill give him some fresh water right away and move the light a bit higher. Any other suggestions or thoughts are very welcome.

Your plant is being way over-watered is all.... less feedings and you'll be good just watch your ph levels and watch how your plant comes along.
