property taxes alone does not pay for schools, police, fire. Why do you think it does ?
Why do you think that's true now? You think maybe because of the poor model of legacy costs they are no longer enough and new inventive revenues are needed?

really GW. What country are we in ?
OK, so you mean here.

You asked when did income taxes start. The answer to that was 1700's to fight Napoleon.

It started here early and was later repealed as it was found unconstitutional. It was brought back after the advent of the Federal Reserve and a shiny new amendment. Do you need specific dates?

Can we just skip to the part where you make a point. We have been down this road before and you got distracted by squirrels or something and never made one.

If the hospital wants to close and relocate to another area

They can't do it. Yes they do prevent hospitals from closing.
Repeatedly stating a lie doesn't make it true. CONs can only prevent a new care facility from opening, they can not prevent a facility from closing, or applying for a CON elsewhere. and opening.. Your argument seems to be "just keep stating the same lie over and over"

They want to close and open up a new facility?
Has to be in the same community.
So why close if you can't reopen some place else.

What if you are losing 10M a year? What if closing that entity helps your other holdings in the community next to it?

Seriously dude, try to think this one through. You are saying that a CON prevents losing businesses from closing. Do you really believe that? or is it that you've painted yourself into this corner and don't know how to get out of it.

Why would it have to be in the same community. There are nation wide chains of hospitals, yet you claim they are all in the same community.
"So why close if you can't reopen some place else." Disregarding you can open somewhere else, if you're losing money at a location, you close it. So the "why" would be money.

You are arguing with a person who does not understand the most basic principles of business.

they've been charged separately since forever.

They pay 39.6% on income over $300,000 (not sure about that figure, it keeps changing). 15% on long term capital gains + ANOTHER 15% for medicare. 20-39.6% on short term capital gains + 15% for medicare. You rant and rave, but you have no idea what you're talking about.
The above information is riddled with inaccuracies and omissions large enough to drive a drug fortune through it.

You pay federal and state taxes on your phone/electric/gas bill that goes into the general coffers. It's not for local fire and rescue.

History says otherwise
