the Sundial guy gave an honest self review
when he started to whine about getting rid of
non LP's to help them... i tuned out
he had already mentioned that they couldn't grow it as well as BM
so he wants no one to have good weed...
its more of an art, not a science. it takes alot of knowledge to grow it right. sometimes it goes good but there is so much that can go wrong. so many factors to consider. trial and error. one guy i know that can grow good weed is a fucking moron when it comes to the science behind it, but hes able to sell it so in the end thats all that matters.

sundial guy should have hired someone for 100k+ salary with a few years experience from colorado or netherlands.

There was lots of sunshine club in the local LP grow factory. From what I’ve seen in other industries is that the sacred cow positions are available by purchasing a set amount of shares.

What's funny is I have a customer who has two friends that were going for their micro and after a while said fuck it and started growing tomatoes. Made pretty good money with it so said fuck it to weed lol.

I was talking to one of my horti suppliers and there was a big green pepper farm that decided they're gonna become millionaires growing weed. So they switched and started to apply for an LP. Well one of their competitors took the chance and build out more green pepper hot houses and took that market. So now wanna be cannabis farm is not doing so well while the other ones is banking it on green peppers.

not all that's green will shine like gold...
seems like all the coin these days is truly in the green's....arugula, leaf lettuce, spinach, radicchio, chard, and mizuna ,kale, collard greens
and things like sprouts and beans, and mushrooms ....even on a relatively small scale...can make for a profitable monthly side business and income.

Cannabis really did attract all those super greedy types....due to its former illegality and the lure that it was because of that illegality.
This is actually the brightest spin off of the whole Cannabis legalization....which is those who had it coming to them....for the years of abuse of power... they inflicted on the cannabis smoking public and especially (legacy Market growers)....jailing and destroying, mostly honest hard working guys, and their families who tried to make a side buck....by growing a plant to sell to their friends.
Their greed will now be their downfall....since ultimately we will decide their fate....rofl....lol ...hehehehe

Also shows you just because you legalize something doesn't mean eveyrone will go out buy and consume it. Alcohol was different as it was a differant time and mentality and no sicence showing shit can kill you and make you beat your kids. I bet if alcohol was legalized today same thing would happned as with weed, there would be very small change is users.

this is why in countries where they actually wanted to help eliminate the criminal element from drugs......it was so easy and very successful...
They just stopped criminalizing the end users...and offered help to those addicted and have done so under the users own terms...
in the mean time they are not in jail or hospital...but rather working on becoming a better person and a more meaningful contributor to his or her
community.
The other thing was the city saved 70 percent of its budget just between policing and healthcare... and crime also dropped 70 -80 percent and all the associated costs like insurance etc also dropped drastically

“There’s a lack of quality people to grow a high-quality product in this industry and everything flows downhill after that… That’s what’s stifling this industry: no one could produce high-quality cannabis. They can, but most people are spending too much money to do so. Effectively, what we’re looking for is high quality, low-cost. Sundial has not been doing that.”
Omg....did he really say that?....that's why the black market is failing (sarcasm)...

“That means there is no longer any cheap money for any new innovation, which has stifled not just Sundial but the industry as a whole. So cutbacks are a requirement and a necessity to stay afloat and to continue productivity.”
...sounds like they ran out of fairy tales to tell the suits
The other problem? Cost-control measures to take away the black market. Right now, there is no enforcement so legal producers have to “compete with one hand tied behind our back,” Terrigno
Whine whine whine....no enforcement eh?...so they can back door...lol...

Alberta-based cannabis producer Sundial confirmed Tuesday that it has laid off “less than 10 per cent” of its workforce.

In a statement to Global News, it said: “In the spirit of continuous optimization for efficiency and effectiveness, Sundial has made some organizational changes… It’s important we remain agile in responding to the realities of the evolving cannabis market.”

Sundial did not confirm how many people 10 per cent equated to.

Low product quality
A cannabis expert said supply is not the problem — it’s product quality.

Maurizio Terrigno, founder of the Canadian Cannabis Chamber, said the main question is: Are you able to produce a high-quality product at a low cost?

Cost overruns, crop failures and inefficiencies are hurting Sundial, he said, adding its products are “average at best.”

“When you overspend and you’re not making your requirements and you’re not meeting your targets, the first people to go — you cut back on your staff,” he said, adding that this happens in any industry.

Terrigno said the industry is in a headwind right now and Sundial is just another victim.

“Money to promote and activate new funding in this industry has effectively stopped. Institutional lending has ground to zero,” he said.

“That means there is no longer any cheap money for any new innovation, which has stifled not just Sundial but the industry as a whole. So cutbacks are a requirement and a necessity to stay afloat and to continue productivity.”

Industry officials were overspending and mismanaging money with the encouragement of innovation, Terrigno said.

“People are reining everybody in… It’s too little, too late. I think Sundial is on the wrong side of efficiency and they’re not being proactive. They’re being reactive,” he said.

Terrigno said there is no variety in the market and it’s oversaturated with poorer-quality products.

“If you walk into your local cannabis retail store, you’re still only buying Pepsi and Coke. There is literally no variety in this market and the limited variety is scooped up too quickly,” he said.

Black market
The other problem? Cost-control measures to take away the black market. Right now, there is no enforcement so legal producers have to “compete with one hand tied behind our back,” Terrigno said.

“Here we are in the retail market producing or trying to produce a high-quality product where we’re heavily taxed, heavily legislated with a talent pool that is very limited,” he said.

“The black market has no repercussions, no enforcement, and yet it is allowed to flourish.”

Terrigno said producers need to consider the size and scale of their operations.

“A lot of these growers have taken up the opportunity and they believe in the growers by saying, ‘Well, if you’re able to grow in a 2,000-square-foot basement, you’re able to scale it into a 20,000-square-foot facility,’ and it fails every time,” he said.

“If you keep putting money towards something that keeps failing, it just adds to your cost.”
It sounds like they should be buying from the black market to get quality weed. Just hire experienced growers and pay them well and you will have your quality.
