what is everyone using for alcohol to make their oil at home?
I’ve been looking around for food grade alcohol or everclear in Ontario and can’t find anywhere to buy it.
I’m hoping to make some oil to put in gel caps

removes the same amount of meds as BHO !! In less than three minutes time FROZEN:idea: FACT!

cant buy the real stuff in ONT unless ya know someone who makes it it is easy enough
sugar water distill
presto 93%

you can use a water still to capture most of it if you like...but the still heats it to the boiling point of water which is hot for making oil in all intensive purposes.

I’ve tried 99% ipa from shoppers and Walmart but I keep reading that it leaves behind unwanted residue.
This is all new to me I’ve been a flower only kind of guy thus far.

First off, making extract with alcohol in Canada is illegal.
99% ISO is plentiful and relatively cheap at most farm stock stores, like a Co-Op.
A Still cost about $100 and a hot plate is $15.

Or you could make bubble or dry ice hash, rosin press etc.

LOL I used to sell 30 5gal pails of 99% every week, operative word here "use to' :bigjoint:Even that market has totally died here down to about 5 per week now. Everyone jumped on the concentrates market when weed was $600 lb and then 3 months alter they were complaining the concentrate price is dropping and tons around.

I’m not worried about the legality of it
My lawyer would probably agree alive and charged is better then legally dead!

Just curious what other folks were using to make oil. I am not looking to make anything else extract wise just rso

Well I've been doing a 3 minute wash with cold iso

I did jury rig a rosin press out of a vise and a gutted hair straightener but it didn't stand up to the pressure after a few squishes ... picking up some aluminum plates and a 10 ton hydralic jack

You can get "Global" alcohol from SAQ anywhere in Quebec, it is higher than Everclear at 94% alcohol. Unfortunately that other place will not ship outside of AB. However if you can take a trip to Quebec or know someone who is going there then you can get that. About 66$ a bottle, if you use something like the ExtractCraft Turbo you can reclaim 95% of it. No residuals with grain alcohol. However to get Everclear in Ontario you need a doctors note and then the LCBO will sell it to you.

The Supreme Court ruling granted med patients the right to concentrates. But they can't be made with any solvents.
So a rosin press is perfect for those wanting to remain law abiding. I can't think of any other way to make concentrates without some type of stripping solvent.
Tumbling also qualifies.

That's what I thought ... @bionicthumb so how is it that making oil using iso is not illegal for you when it is for everyone else?

It's illegal for everyone but LP's..even med folks.
I'm not familiar with steam distillation of concentrate but any process that is solventless is okay.
