Sounds like it's too wet. I do hempy and don't have that problem ever. I assume you are in soil. Let it dry out good and make sure the pot has good drainage.

I dunno man. Sounds too wet. I never have the green in my hempies. I feed every other day and let it drain. Later in flower I may feed everyday cause I use small 3 gallon buckets. Might go with hydroton since its Dutch buckets. If I remember correctly that's more like a real hydro set up whereas hempy is passive hydro. I also just do Lucas Formula. Simple and effective.

I do 100% perlite too.

crazy! i thought u should water like 10 times a day with perlite... ill look into lucas formula and these hempy buckets...
can you shed light on hyrdoton?

It's those clay pellets most people use in hydro. You should seek out to someone in the hydro section that is more familiar with your method. Lucas formula is simple. I use GH maxibloom, 1 small scoop, 1 ml Calmag per gallon. And then PH up to get it around 6.0. The hempy bucket is just a plain bucket with a hole drilled in the side 2 inches from the bottom. 100% perlite or you can add vermiculite maybe 25% because it holds moisture better than perlite. I just do 100% perlite. It's really a simple lazy mans method of growing that is effective. Look up @ISK, he did a great journal(KISS) that explains the hempy bucket Lucas Formula method.

I had algae a couple times when I used see through cups for starter pots a while back. It never hurt anything, just dont let it get out of controll and your good. I think H2O2 works if it get bad, though I may be mistaken.

Green algae only colonizes the outside of soils and cannot move into the root zone, green plants need light so its limited as to where it can grow.

In a bright warm nutrient rich well oxygenated grow medium water will be the limiting factor and why those who water more get more.

H2O2 will kill it dead but green algae wont harm plants as it is quite a harmless plant itself.
