Hello all,had one of these 12 pot systems for 10 days http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/like/251403626521?limghlpsr=true&hlpv=2&ops=true&viphx=1&hlpht=true&lpid=108&chn=ps&device=t&adtype=pla&crdt=0&ff3=1&ff11=ICEP3.0.0-L&ff12=67&ff13=80&ff14=108. Plants are bursting with roots ! , it only takes 5 mins to flood & drain !. I'm using full house & garden range of mutes, flooding every hour. Could I,should I flood every half he ? Any thoughts ?, can't find diddly squatt on this system . Thanks in advance.ps.using all pebbles

If your having good progress flooding every hour then dont change anything , i grow flood & drain in 5 inch net pots & no medium except for the top inch of the net pot & no medium in the table either , i flood once an hour for 15 minutes lights on & once every 2 hours lights off , ive ran this schedule about 3 yrs now with great results .

I've come to the conclusion I'm the only person on earth using the flood & drain system , spoke to a few using there dwc bubblers.

I do Flood and Drain in Rockwool blocks . Easy to grow . water three times a day for 15 minutes , and harvest is easy and quick to turn over. Check out my signatures to see my grows.

with clay pebbles in flood and drain you can push it to about 3 hours between floods when the plants are younger and under less stress and drinking less maybe you could go to even less

but as they get older you want to flood them more to get more growth out of them

in the last 2 weeks maybe even the last 4 you could easy get away with running it 24/7 or at least flooding the whole of the day time or push it up to even 30mins or 15mins and let them dry out at night

Just watch out for root rot problems developing it`s why I like to give my plants root zone time to dry out, but when I`m late in bloom its better to keep the roots flooded in fact in the last few days or even week or 2 you`ll see more bulk and frosting if you keep them wet

Some people even argue that drowning the plants cuts the air to the roots and that late in flower this can lead to better results as your plants go into semi shock and fatten up

RM3`s boiling method uses the same theory but it`s a bit more one way seen as your pretty much killing the roots with boiling water using his method, but you do end up with a plant that`s half way cured by the time its dried his way, you get more amber to the plant too but maybe a bit less bulk it`s a bit hard to know without doing a side by side test..

If your having good results with your flood times dont change shit , so much with flood times depends on table set up & pump volume per minute there isnt 1 specific set flood schedule .

the alien system is fucking expensive

I mean write alien on something and have a nice black and neon green items and you can charge a fuck load, Thank fuck they don`t do an alien + area 51 combo that would just by the process of cool branding have to cost twice what buying them separately normally would.

but maybe some of the owners of that system can tell us if they notice anything in the design or materials that makes it worth the extra investment ?

I know there's plenty do f&d m8, but not using the alien system, probly because it's so expensive !
I looked at doing that system but decided to keep it as simple as possible so decided to stay with standard Flood tables but am thinking of going alien , expense is not a factor .

I used to co own a co-op & could legally grow 400 plants but since selling out my half of the business scaled things down but my grow op is set up for a minimum of 50 plants , i dont have need of 50 plants so might be moving tword a hydro system where i can grow 6ft monsters vs SOG .

I'd also like to do a grow in my home vs driving an hour each way to my grow building .

I've got the 12 pot f&d, 2 points, no mechanical parts, huge pipe work . It's working for me :)

the area 51 add on would be the led lights called "area 51`s" but you`d probably need 4 to 12 of them with that set up

So it has no mechanical or moving parts ? can you time the flood cycles ?

I`ve been tempted to use the flood table on my flood and drain to wet some wicks that I`d use to water other plants but think I don`t want to risk my res being too small or that or getting some kinda nasty bacteria grow in my flood and drain pebble...

No, u can't time the floods m8,but u can have them one after the other if u know what I mean, I'm flooding half hourly now, lol yes , Area 51 lights for an extra £500 !wouldnt Supprise me .with res size, I've always understood , bigger is better, keeps everything stable

R U saying you pull 6 lbs (dried bud weight) every week in a 4' x 8' area??????

If so, please educate me (pics would be great).

Thanks in advance,

Yes & no , no im not pulling 6 lbs in a 4 x 8 grow area every week , yes i am/was pulling 6 lbs in a 4 x 8 flood table every 7 to 8 weeks , 3 large air cooled hoods with 600 hps in each hood at 1,800 watts of total light over each table , 50 5inch net pots per covered flood table in a sea of green single cola per pot style , each cola yields about 2 zips , some heavier & some lighter so 2 on average , its a simple formula .

Two zips = 56 grams per net pot x 50 net pots = 2,800 grams totaling to 6 & 1\4 lbs per 4ft x 8ft flood table , grow room space is nearly 3,000 sq ft & 8 seperate flood tables were used , each table loaded with fresh clones 1 week apart allowing for 1 table to be chopped every weekend .

Im hitting roughly 1.5 grams per watt of useable bud with the SOG , its not a world record or even a Rollitup record .

Ive posted pics in the past of single pots ready to chop & of the single dried cola that came out of the pot but never of the whole grow for obvious reasons .

I still grow off & on but since selling the co-op i no longer have enough patients to grow those plant counts & weights but im still hitting over 1.5 grams per watt in my dual patient 24 plant grow .

If you want help setting up a sea of green that will yeild 6lbs per 4ft x 8ft table i'd be glad to help .

What kind of medium are you using? I believe you are flooding too often....maybe try 1 time every 2 hours maximum instead. When the unit has drained the plants receive a huge benefit from the oxygen/nute combination as the evaporation takes place. My CAP system instructions says to flood only 3 or 4 times a day but I flood 5 times including 1 time at night. I am also using hydroton for my medium, my plants get huge and they grow and mature super fast.
