I started growing these in a corn field and they were doing great for the first 2 weeks. I would water them with rain water or ground water from a well (hi iron content) but this same ground water is used on all kinds of other plants with no problems. They were originally in pots.
The corn is growing like mad despite the lack of rain (3 weeks with none) so I decide I will add some miracle grow when I water. I dilute it so that its less strong than the package recommends (22 ml per 6L). With in 3 days the plants like look the pictures. I typically water every 3 days.
I don't know if I have burnt the roots, or if the ground is too hard without the right nutrients. I have gone back to rain water (I have rain barrels) and I hope they recover. I have loosened the soil around the plants but didn't go too deep.
My question would be would you suggest adding any nutrients and if so which ones. Thanks in advance.
