Time to buy a lotto ticketI had the opposite from you last year. Out of 26 regs, i had 22 females and 4 males. Luck of the draw!
Yea i was kinda fooled by the calyx’s, they looked super swollen, and all the hairs had turned orange for about a week already. It had also been in flower almost 90 days. Not really I've seen them flower at 2" tall plus no control and unstable imo. Also for your notes looks like you pulled early.
It looked like there were still some that hadn't turned. Looked at the post for money maker it was cut early. It's cool just learn from it.Yea i was kinda fooled by the calyx’s, they looked super swollen, and all the hairs had turned orange for about a week already. It had also been in flower almost 90 days.
Nice! I’ve never cloned, but this might be the time to learn. As that old saying goes, Shit Happens, and it does. But I always look at it in a positive way. Like in my case, I just popped 6 reg Orange Vanilla Creamsicle(s), about a month and a half ago, and 5 were males, but I got 1 female, so I chopped that bitch up, and made 8 plants, 6 to grow out, and 2 to make seeds with, so it's all good!
So sorry man. That does seem abit odd. Mind you im one of those guys who's always looking for prize males, but guess what happened to me last time I tried. Out of 15 seeds they all turned out to be female. I was kind of bummed. But at least I could still make use of them which in your case may not be possible.Well sometimes these things happen, wishing you better luck next time. Hopefully the guys they came from can sort you out or someone else helps out. Good luck.I’m so f*ckin pissed. I got 20 regs from some guys growing some real good stuff. I won’t mention them by name, but their plants and flowers look amazing. 10 were Blubber Breath (Mobby Dick X Peanut Butter Breath) and 10 Nature Alleys (GMO Cookies X Peanut Butter Breath). The seeds all sprouted and the plants looked amazing. Big robust leaves with a nice deep green color and thick stems. They grew fast af! In about 4 weeks, The nature alley’s were over a foot and a half tall.
Yesterday was the begining of week 5 and while I was adjusting the LST tie downs, I noticed a few pollen sacks already hanging on one of the best looking plants! I quickly combed the rest, and found 13 out of the 20 to be males or herms developing pollen sacks on multiple nodes. I removed the males as I have no use for them, and I have 7 plants left with 2 being possible males as well, they had what appeared to be very small developing pollen sacks. I removed the branches that those possible sacks were on, and I’ll observe them over the next few days for more sacks developing.
I’m honestly bummed, I was expecting atleast 8-10 females, to then pick the best 6 to grow out and flower. Seems that if I’m lucky, I’ll be left with 2–4 females. All my parameters seem to be fine. I have a Mars Hydro 5x5x6.5 tent, 2 Vipar Spectra 150 Watt lights, 42-46% RH, 78-80F degrees, good ventilation.. The only thing I’m suspecting, is I did top the plants a bit soon, at the 6th or 7th node. But I have done this without issue in the past, and the plants didn’t seem to skip a beat, they strted developing their two tops almost inmediately. If anyone has any idea what may have happened, let me know! View attachment 4927499View attachment 4927500View attachment 4927501View attachment 4927502
2 150watt good led panels will probably put out as much light as a 500 watt hid. I think the plants are the size they are because their males, and in small pots and from genetics(cookies types) that are a little slower to veg. Plus the tying down.Dude that’s not nearly enough light.
Did you not see the amount of space between nodes? They’re stretching from lack of light. I’ve had cookies n cream and a few other cookie crosses they stay short and stout. I have some plants in 1/2 gal pots and they stay short and bushy but they have the amount of quality light they need.2 150watt good led panels will probably put out as much light as a 500 watt hid. You could be right. But you dont need too much light in veg. A good 300 watt led panel over a 3x3 should give a average ppfd of about 400-600 (with the ability to get quite abit more in the growing core)and thats usually just one board in the middle. In a 4x4 its probably about 400-500 with the main 3x3 core the plants are in if using 2 boards spaced properly and at the right hight should give good numbers. I agree for flower you could go higher. But a good 300 watt led can put out similar ppfd numbers to some 600 watt hid boards.Did you not see the amount of space between nodes? They’re stretching from lack of light. How are they idiot proof? All they do is flower on their own without needing to adjust the light cycle. Other than that they can suffer from the same issues people have with photoperiod plants. In fact if you screw the pooch out of the gate with an auto you don't have any time to make corrections before flowering and many people end up with sick, 10 inch tall autos that are flowering and will only yield a few grams. On to slightly better news.. here we have some Master Yoda Auto I harvested yesterday. Maybe I should stick to Autos since they are pretty much idiot-proof.View attachment 4927984View attachment 4927985
That's a drag when you are looking for a male and don't get one. Especially if all you started with was a 5 pack of regs with the intention of reproducing more seeds. I've had to take clones and make fem seeds which I wasn't happy doing but at least I was able to make seeds of the strain. I only buy a strain once and always make seeds. So sorry man. That does seem abit odd. Mind you im one of those guys who's always looking for prize males, but guess what happened to me last time I tried. Out of 15 seeds they all turned out to be female. Ps. I wish that there was a way of making all male seeds, if anyone has any ideas give me a pm please.
Maybe someone got it wrong and masculanized instead of feminized. Never heard of it but why not?Ended up with only one confirmed female and one yet to be determined because it has no pistils or male preflowers. I guess after I flip them, i’ll find out the mystery.

This is why I never gamble or buy lotto tickets. I’ll add reg seeds to that list.Maybe someone got it wrong and masculanized instead of feminized. Never heard of it but why not?
I wouldnt rule them out yet. This is why I never gamble or buy lotto tickets. I’ll add reg seeds to that list.
Yea I definitely wanna take some cuts from this female before I flower her. If all goes well, I should have 4-6 females after all. Once I get better at this, I’ll also look into making seeds and get better at cloning. I won’t rule out regs, but I just got some really good auto seeds, so I’ll do another round of Autos, and then try some fems next, as I make my way back to try regs someday.I wouldnt rule them out yet.
With a good breeder and Regs your have the pheno hunt option. I think about like kids. If any couple were to have 1000 offspring they may all looks similar and act slightly the same, but 1 of those thousand is a valedictorian, another one got the full ride football scholarship. Granted a couple were criminals and crackheads but that the chance you take.
so starting a handful of regs will give you that ability to “hunt” for the keeper.
keep clones of every seed you flower and if one or two stand above the rest, then you keep those lineages. But with added vigor and robust that comes with F1 reg seeds.
once you have a keeper you keep her. Lol genetic copies forever.
