The gloves make me suspicious... they aren't the same kind you use for trimming right? How fucked would it be if ur partner sent them?

Them aint 'robbin a place' gloves, them are bud cleaning gloves... Not a pair bought at a gas station with cash, but from a box of at least 100... who you know thats got a box of black gloves?

Depending on what state and how it was used maybe. Generally warning shots in the air ARE NOT legal. I am in CA and relocated all my guns until the grow is over and the pot is mostly gone. If someone was to break in here, the neighbor's would be over before the cops got here, with guns.
 
We have a bit of a prowler issue in general where I am. I have cameras and have watched people approach the gate, hear the dogs, and about face to find some other place to be. IMO, most thieves are gutless and won't mess with dogs.
The gun is a very bad idea. If it was obtained legally and you did some training, that'd be different. Adrenaline, darkness, fear, inexperience and a deadly weapon with permanent consequences are not a good idea. Pepper spray would do the trick and even if you go that route, become VERY familiar with the operation of the device before depending on it.

This is a really good point, back to the "you now these guys" scenario.

I'm sure the friend whom I suspect has a gun. he carry it everywhere.

I would get police involved. Look up how to have the grow be spit up between multiple people IN WRITING. Get the cops over and make a report and list your suspects. Then call these people and tell them they have been reported. They will skip town. if they show up, they go to jail, win win all around.
 
There's three of us in this house and between us there are four handguns, two .22 riffel's, and a 12 guage. If we hear a peep outside at night all you hear is the sound of guns cocking. It wouldn't take much effort on my part to shoot some asshole on our property.

i probably won't get the cops involved but the suspect is a drug dealer. perhaps I might set him up with the police non grow related.
