Never use acetone, they add chemicals in to poison people if they try to do this.

I don't recommend anything other than Butane, it's so easy and safe... yes i said safe, if you know how to use it.

on the different solvents,

Use n-Pentane! Its just like butane but has another methyl group which makes it boil at a higher temperature.
I use a large 5L flask and a gallon of n-pentane. Let it soak and then recover your solvent with a standard distillation kit (they're cheap and very useful).

1. The n-pentane is much safer to use because it is not a gas through most of the process
2. n-pentane is non-polar and will work just like butane. No green discoloration.
   
3. You can recover your solvent with a very simple chemistry kit.
4. It is a non-toxic hydrocarbon to use and can be bought in different rated purity like reagent grade, etc.
5. n-pentane boils at a low temperature which makes it easy to boil your solvent. Hot tap water from faucet or room temp water with a slight vacuum will work. Will preserve terps, but not quite as much as butane.

One bad thing is that n-pentane needs to be kept cool because mildly hot temperatures like 85°F can cause it to boil.
