And before I get yelled at by the McBurger lovers, please consider, i'm not saying anything BAD about McDonalds' food. I know they would never intentionally put rat poison in their nuggets. It's just what the rats happened to eat before they were fried. It can't be helped, and I understand that.

Murder is the unlawful premeditated killing... if it follows the law then it is not murder... I believe it should be legal to kill this sort of person...

If a dog... an animal following it's nature and not just curious what it would feel like to kill someone was guilty of killing someone then the dog would be put down... Why should people who murder people be treated as any less of an animal..?

I would say the same if she wasn't so young and because of her background. I'm not saying she should win sympathy and praise all-around but one youg life is wasted already... Sad about two. But if you think about it, it's probably kinder to put her down if she's waking up everyday dealing with those thoughts. Killing her wont bring the child back, but there is the possibility she would do it again. I'd rather look at killing her as a mercy thing than be just as monstrous reveling in her demise...

I wouldn't revel in her demise. I think you're just too young (although extremely intelligent) to grasp the heinousness of doing things that horrible to a child...(seriously child) who, due to this asshole that couldn't control her inner voices or whatnot, only gets to experience 9 short years on this planet.
To be responsible for that, and to say that it felt amazing and the other things she said...I am only capable of seeing if from the side of the kid who got robbed of all of that. You could call it a mercy killing or whatever you wanted to, but for me it would just be simple math. Addition by subtraction.

just a thought, maybe it's not that she can't "grasp the heinousness" of it, but that she is capable of seeing both sides of the argument.

I think I see both sides, because when I was 15... i thought about killing a 9 year old. I'm ashamed to say it, but I couldn't help those kid of thoughts. But I know the fact she was mentally ill doesn't change the fact what she did was horrible, cruel, callous, caused suffering to the child as well as taking their life away and causing grief to the family. I'm seeing it from her point of view, but don't think for a second I'm saying what she did was excusable or anything, just to clarify. If it were my child I'd be devastated and angry.

Well Galahad, you sort of make my point for me. If one is even capable of making an argument for a person who would do those things and act that way afterward, and in any way minimizing the fact that a 9 year old child was wiped from this earth for a thrill, a whim, a rush...well I would think any reasonable person could deduce that they just aren't old/mature enough yet to "grasp the heinousness". Because I do think she is intelligent and reasonable, I do believe if you asked her about this in 20 years she might feel differently.

Kuroi, I get what you're saying. But my answer to that is, you thought about it. You did not do it and like it and say it was amazing.
I think the world desensitizes people now, by to take a life but cutting a throat and stabbing with a screwdriver...that is an extremely up close and physical act and it isn't just cleanly over in a second like television would have you believe. There are some lines that can't be uncrossed, and if you cross them willfully then you ought to pay the price. We can all agree to disagree, I still like you. =)

Bustamante originally had been charged with first-degree murder but pleaded guilty last month to the lesser charges to avoid a trial and the possibility of spending her life in an adult prison with no chance of release.

Yoooou bleeding hearts! Yes she's 15 years old. Yes, that's young. I bet she was even the cutest 5 year old sociopath you'd ever seen back in her day.

Fry her. The only other choice is to let her live and deal with the consequences, because she will do something horrible again. People don't change in any significant enough way for this to be OK.

Dust off Ole' Sparky, plug it in, strap her in, put a large picture of the little girl she murdered in front of her so she can look at it while she does the sit-down Samba as the juice is cranked up.
