Dont underestimate the little white spots.. Powdery mildew can be a crop killer if not addressed.. best ways to prevent it is good air flow and keep your humidity in check...

Lol keep the humidity in check?? :P Its an outdoor grow all i kan do is hope that the day is humid, but with the hand soap does that hurt the plant??

powdery mildew = neem oil

white flies.. probably fungus gnats = get some bug predators (try online, google ftw)

**let nature do the work for you ;)

also, as you have an outdoor grow, soap apparently then attracts rats, which is worse, but i've never grown outdoors so i'm no expert. Good luck mate

Funny story about the soap thing. A couple of seasons ago I got the bright idea of using peat moss as my main filler, it was light and really cheep. But every time I tried to water my plants it was impossible, the water just rolled off. So I went to a legit nursery and told them about the problem, leaving out it was weed I was growing (of course). The person was cool she told me that you could buy a ahhh shoot I forgot the name of it! Well, anyway it allowed the water to soak into the peat moss, but that soap would do the same thing and would not hurt the plants, and also be a lot cheeper. She also told me that peat moss is very acid and that a little lime probably would not hurt. So anyway I do not think a little soap mixed with baking soda would hurt, actually look up, google baking soda for mold it's really cool how the baking soda works and how good it is when compared to the alternatives. Good Luck.

Hey Buddy :) I'm growing outdoors too (My first grow!). I'm starting to get that too.

However, I think what we both have is NOT mildew, but rather spider mites. My lady is in week 8 of veg and I have found/killed several nearby spide rmites during its life (Bad part about outdoor grows). Through research, I did find that spider mites do leave these white spots. The white "spots" are not as severe as the disastrous powdery mildew as in pictures online, also since we have white "spots" or "dots" rather than larger "patches", but we should still watch for spread just in case. In my lower leaves, there is one or two "holes" where spidermites had totally eaten through the entire leaf in the plant's early life, probably since the leaves were much thinner and smaller back then. The holes are about the same size as our white dots that we have. I might see a hole as well in your lower leaf in the picture, unless that is just another white spot in the sunlight. But yeah, I believe that it might be from spider mites, but that's just my opinion.

I'll stay tuned :) Keep me informed since we both have the same problem. Thanks. Hope this gave some info on another possible cause to the white dots.

Hello to you both,
I`ve got the same problem as you i think ? This is my first grow and i`m a noob at this. I`ve just read that if you mix 4 teaspoons of Bicarbonate of Soda per Gallon of water and spray your plant 3/4 times a week that should cure it. I also read that if you also mix 4 teaspoons of Liquid Soap (washing up liquid) with the Gallon mix that it would help with the Bug problem.
i`m going to give it a go and will let you know how i get on.
Let`s see if we can Beat this together ;-)
