They sell it in gallon jugs at just about any grocery store or drug store for less than $2, unless you're just that into DIY.

You need some kinda tube going from the top of the kettle to another lower catch container( to grab the vapor). Cold rags on the tube should be enough to cause condensation. Just google distillation setup.

Water stills are commercially available. They are a) very power-hungry, and b) thirsty because they use much more water as coolant than as feed. There is also c), expense of the unit. Barnstead makes some pretty ones iirc. Commercial distilled water is very inexpensive (considering what went into it), and should satisfy your needs, pefectly. cn

I was once told that the water that drips from acs and collected in dehumidifiers is almost 0ppm

I have always wondered about using my ac and dehumidifier cause i pour so much of it down the drain! But regardless of what ppm etc is it would still have to be filtered someway. never wanna water your plants with mold or some mystery sediment. It would be interesting to find something about this! thank you dam612 for the lightbulb.

Get yourself a Reverse Osmosis set up in your house! if you have a couple little guys i would recommend drinking(RO) or distilled water from any grocery store , walmart, target, etc... Super cheap its what i did till my little girls turned into big girls and were needing to much water. Just make sure you hit them with some CAMG+ if your using either distilled or RO h20!

GOod LUck!

RO water from the refilling machine many stores have is cheaper. And better than distiller for the environment because it uses a tad less energy and water and doesn't get packaged so the container gets recycled.

from my google searches it seems many people use it, but if theres dust floating around run it thru a coffee filter. some also suggest a little h202 per gallon IF there are any bacterias but apparently it should be plain clean water

dunno about the d/h, but a/c water is just as good as RO. But seriously, get an RO machine. It's not so expensive, and youwon't have to log all that water from the store...
