Marijuana growing tips for beginners: http://bit.ly/2dlR1XI (includes useful tips on how to improve bud quality)

Tip 1: Always Grow from Seeds and Not From Clones
The drawbacks of starting with clones can prove to make the entire growing experience a wasted effort. Clones will incorporate any diseases, pests, and genetic weaknesses of the mother plant into your crop.

Tip 4: Start with a Good Soil
A fine-quality organic soil will supply all of the nutrients that your plants need. A well-prepared soil should need no amendments, or only very little towards the end of the crop's growth cycle.

anyone want to add their tips

Really?
beginner eh?
You might not like this but, it's true!

READ up on growing tropical house plants!
get yourself an African Violet...Your goal is to get it to bloom.

While you are doing that. get yourself several books on growing MM. I suggest these 2 to start.
Ed Rosenthal's marijuana growers handbook

Jorge Cervates MM growers bible

Did you say organics? Then also get these for sure!
Teaming with microbes
Teaming with Nutrients

NOW read them and read them again! Ed's is best for growing and Jorge's does nice for room design and ok for growing. Keep in mind that these guys will have some not so true opinions, like "flushing" - that's a myth! learning and doing a proper cure is by far more important ....

Once you get that African Violet to bloom - You can start growing MM and not have all the normal beginners failures and persistent asking of mind numbing basic questions that everything I told you to do,,,COVERED!

Avoid the ASSUMED short cut of simply trowing a seed in dirt, and asking questions as you go here. The failures you will have are no more then lost time to your real goal!
Invest in basic knowledge before you start.....

CHOOSE WISELY!

The two most common problems that beginners have is over watering and over feeding. The first can be prevented somewhat by adding extra perlite to your soil.....at least 20%. As to the second, don't fall for the snake oil salemen's lines. Your plant needs no nutrients for at least the first 2 to three weeks of the plants life. After that go with 1/4 of whatever the label recommends. You don't need a bunch of extra supplements...bud enhancers etc. Also I would recommend for beginners to start in soil vs hydro. Your chances of success are far greater.

i grow clones all the time, if you don't keep weak shitty infected mothers, you have no problems having weak shitty infected clones.

if you want to grow in soil, amendments will usually last the first month or maybe two. if you make supersoil you may get away with not using any nutes most of the grow.

whos grow did you steal pictures from this time?

Don't over think it, remember K.I.S.S (Keep It Stupid Simple) start basic if you enjoy growing your own then invest in the books and better equipment.

i've read a few books, and while they all had some good information, most of them seem to be full of advice thats no better than what you get here, and you can't ask the book questions. if you buy books don't just take what they say as rote, come here and ask about it. just because some pot head was actually lucid for long enough to get a book published doesn't mean hes any better at growing than you are

Both my books are in a forum with each chapter being a new thread and questions, discussions in each thread. It's very nice 8)

Ed Rosenthal has masters degrees and a lifetime of experience growing. His book has never steered me wrong and is very easy to understand. It is a good book for new growers.

i didn't say there was no good information in books, but even the ones by ed rosenthal are starting to get badly dated, it would still be a good idea to ask questions before blindly following any advice from a book

ROLS (recycled organic living soil) , keep it simple stupid, use worm castings, since you are not spending money on nutrients you can afford to spend money on beneficial insects. No one has ever thanked me later but maybe you will.
