This is obviously a google image but this bulb is like 7 inches long I think but im a noob. I saw it and bought it!
Yea you cant really speak on the productivity of the bulb if you never used it. But it looks like it bumps though. That i believe would be good for top dress (putting it over top of the plants). Im still going to look into that bulb. If the plants reach for them its good. Beware of bulbs that dont give a lumen output and always look for (grow bulbs).

If/when the price($25ea.) on the 18w 1600lm Cree led bulbs go down, i will replace my cfls....not only saving me 200w on power and keeping the same amount of lumens, i'm sure the heat won't be as bad either...but till then i'm rocking with the cfls!
Yea i will prob end up with the lead. I have to study them more and see what strategy to use as far as the set up. Ill never stop using the cfls though until i do my tripple light grow. Cfl on one plant mh/hps on one plant and led on one plant. All will equal 400w and same time frame from seed to finish. And the best one will be the one i choose for life. But i can hardly wait to do a Sunlight grow(outdoor)8-):blsmoke::mrgreen:

Those big ass bulbs are a waste of money in my opinion. They're just not for growing purposes.I'm not saying they won't grow buds just saying there's better options..
68 watts
4200 lumens
62 lumens per watt
I believe it has a mogul base too.
You could get a 4pk of 23w bulbs for $10,which would total...
92w
6400 lumens
69 lumens per watt
...so for $5 cheaper you get 2200 more lumens, and they run a little cooler than that larger bulb.
If you plan on growing more than one plant at a time I recommend the 23w bulbs.
@DirtyDanchez
Since you already bought them, use them puppies:)..let us see some pics of your fixture you make or holla if you have any ??

i agree with you on the 42w and 55w bulbs, never again. as for the 125w and bigger bulbs i can't say. my nephew uses the big 250 6000k for veg and 3 300w 2700k bulbs for flower i think i got that right. i think i have talked him into leaving all the lights for flower now, we will see. at any rate he stands by the big lights.

Well I've used the bigger bulbs(42w) too and when two burnt out on me within a yr,it was a big loss.At the time I only had 14 cfls plus the two big ones. Then I noticed my temps went down about 5 degrees, that's a lot when your battling high temps.Funny,me and my nephew argue a out it all the time!:)
Idk,man...I'm also using 40 cfls bulb and grow 3,4,5,6 plants at a time...once I did 72 solo cups!I guess if your using a smaller space than me,those big bulbs could be ok.I like the mobility of the smaller bulbs, they're not as hot, lower watt bulbs last longer...not to mention I made my fixtures specifically for using the smaller bulbs;)

And back to @DirtyDanchez,you do realize those bulbs have a bigger(mogul) socket and can't be used without one or a mogul to e26 socket adapter.

What wattage is that bulb?
I bought these giant ass 68 watt (300 watt equivalent) CFLs from HD for $14.97 each. 4200 lums. I havent trued them as i just herminated for my first grow. One thing i know is they are BRIGHT. I only bought 2 but i plan on building a hood. Ill also do SCROG.

Anyone seen or used these? They are made by eco smart. Legit the size of my dome!
