I'd never heard of them. I'm gonna try out some of their mix packs and see if I can get a nice surprise.
Anyone ever tried with cheaper strains to learn?

They are bubblegum, white widow and AK-47. One of each. Paid 60$...don't laugh it's my first go at this...the person who sold it to us grows. Indoor/outdoor but is still learning, he's no pro. I just wanna grow. I'm sponging, just absorbing info. I'm fairly intelligent and what i mean by that is I'm a very technical...i love the process, the feeding, balancing environment, training plants, talking to them, I love to see my babies grow, with my other gardening skills over the years, I finally want to grow. Got the space, time , money and it's now legal ...I want to learn. Someday give advice to someone else. Thanks everyone.

This is exactly what I did. I got a hold of 10 regular seeds of one strain and one feminized seed of three different strains.
I didn’t want to waste the fem seeds if I screwed up so I started with the regular ones. It’s really not that hard if you read and follow directions though.
I gotta say it’s really annoying waiting to see how many of them are going to be male though especially doing all the training and transplanting.
I did a few soil and one coir, and coir is so much better and easier imo. Also grows much quicker. Check out cocoforcannabis.com, when you’re mixing and feeding everything that goes in it’s a lot easier to figure out if there’s a problem. I haven’t had one issue with the coir plant but I had a few with the soil initially.

I have grown plants in the past, and started growing again after a few years, this year. I would definitely recommend starting with cheaper seeds.. I bought 14 good quality fem seeds and I'm left with 3 because I started too early and only the most robust survived.. So basically ~$120 for 3 seeds (4 were 'freebies'). If I knew I could get those $1 seeds another person mentioned, I definitely would have, although it is nice knowing they will all be female in the end.

if you're in NY be aware it's not legal yet and won't be until the very first gram is sold for recreational use. I'm not saying don't grow.. just be a bit careful about it. I wouldn't worry too much but definitely don't start a noticable from the road garden

Look at rhe breeder mix packs. Two 25 packs for $50. Sure it's all mixed up crosses, but I'm pretty sure your going to get some dankness in there.

We be glad to help! I also wanted to agree with Dank Bongulas post #19, An excellent point, do try to grow only 1 strain for your first grow. I guess since you only have 3 different seeds, you could do all 3 if you will keep a journal for yourself detailing progress and what your input is. That is the only way I can stay on top of my grow.
If you decide to buy more seeds, for now stick with long established strains. The 3 you have are good examples. Maybe Northern Lights too. A good number of hybrid seeds are not stabilized, so they might grow out differently than their siblings. Peace and good night...

I don't understand what you mean, I think you get 25 beans for $30 and if you buy 2 packs you get them for $50, so 50 beans for $50

It's my first grow too and I wanted to make it a point to start with good genetics. It boggles my mind somebody would put in all the time and effort to grow bagseed, but to each their own. No doubt you can score some fire in bagseed too. I understand its free. But you can get some great genetics for free elsewhere, either from freebies sold through a seedbank with a regular order, or by going through some of the members here who are testing their own, etc. I just see all the fire on instagram and elsewhere and its hard not to buy a few packs lol. Growing something that's 5-10 years old from bagseed (I imagine) won't be nearly as easy to grow or as high quality as something bred for vigor and resistance, yield, flavor, etc. from a batch of seeds from a breeder. If your growing a seed from a bag, it could also have a higher chance to herm. You also don't need to spend hundreds of dollars on the most hyped breeder to get good genetics, there's a lot of stuff out there for 50-60 per pack that lots of people have grown and is quality. Every one of these breeders (there's a lot) literally test hundreds if not thousands of plants and choose the best ones for their projects.
You spend a shit load more on electricity(if indoors) and nutrition than you do on seeds. And you also spend a lot of time in the garden looking after them.
Seems kinda silly to skimp out on seeds when you gotta put the rest in regardless. Plus certain strains are more difficult to grow than others. You don't need to go running the most exclusive expensive strains you can find but 10 - 20 bucks a seed is a good starting point.
