Yeah man I love it. Been landscaping for almost 8 years total been a supervisor the last two. Got two guys working under me. I just really enjoy being outdoors and working with plants. Fresh air all day get to smoke whenever I want. I couldn't go back to being stuck inside all day .

Dude I feel your pain. I'm 25, laid off, have an apartment that thankfully I have been able to barely keep my head above water. Doing everything I can to find a job or start up my own business but the shit is hard in this economy and only going to get harder.

na it's not difficult...only certain parts of the job are physically demanding, others are real laid back. you can expect to work LONG hours though (80-100+ hour weeks, all depending)

my last oilfield check for a week's work was $2,600....it would just feel too fucked up to go work at walmart again for $300/week

i am in my mid 20's and have had my own house for 4 years. I am a car salesmen at a large dealership and consistently bring in 6k a month. I am in this business as well and it works great for me easy hours and i kinda make my own schedule. mmj business is my money business for sure though.

So many times I have been working at a company and they promise to give me a better position with higher pay, so they give me more and more work, I do it, but then they realise they dont have to give me the better position because I am now doing the work of two jobs. So they keep me at the same pay, just a lot more work. I hate when they do that because they know people are desperate for work.

Lolz you don't have a full time job and probably haven't ever had one yet as your in your 20's and you plan on starting a successfull business of your own? Let's be realistic, how will you get a loan big enough to start a company? You have no past referrals. I hate to come across as a dick but a company ain't gonna just appear out of thin air for you to own. Quit bitching and work man, if you sound as complainy at work as you come across talking about this then I'm sure they wouldn't promote you. As a supervisor for a security company at 25 I deal with grown men the act this way all the time, think they are entitled to a better position. Just work hard and you will get noticed, that's how the rest of us do it.

ya bro that shit sucks only getting like $660 a week right now working 2 jobs. i have been clean for about 2 and a half months now waiting another month or so and then i am going to buy a hair test for me and see if i am clean. there is plenty of drilling/mining jobs in my town. would like to do that for a couple of years just to be able to quickly purchase a house.

im 23 spins around the sun i have no job i went to uni and studied computer science, was complete ball ache with the teachers being taught by the students as they knew nothing of the subject they taught. it was a complete repeat mentallity if you wanted a 2:1 repeat everything the teacher said....fully indoctrination with no creativity or excitement so i dropped out. now moved back in with my mum, iv created a garage band which most of the neighbours are alright with apart from one...
i live in a village where nothing happens and things are boring most of the time but iv got a few plants iv started with some more seeds on order and with this time im thinking of starting a small business. in total i have a dog that eats all my stuff which is a pain but i have to be thankfull for he gets me out the house atleast once a day. also i can play alot of led zepplin songs which makes life seem less crap. i have 100 in my bank and a dream. i know of a few in my year who own a house and have kids and the surburban nightmare, help from their family though, all the guys who work hard from average wage familys mostly live at home/with parents (which they are not to happy about either). i think you on par brother to being another 20 something without a pot to piss in, lol. its not your fault, a banker can scam the world with derivatives for millions and never see a prison cell, get caught with pot though....

im living with my dad right now and i help him out with some rent. unlike my brothers i am the only one working so i dont feel bad. i clean the house, cook dinners and breakfast, and walk the dogs. i do my part around here and then some. i don't even mind doing all this stuff. it's better than renting an apartment or room for outrageous prices. i enjoy my family, and they give me my space. they never enter my room or anything. just cant wait to own my own house though. the wait sucks.

I've had a job sense I was 17 but it wasn't till I was 19 that I had a steady job. Gotta have a degree or some experience. SOme experiense its seems these days. So if no degree get some experience even if u gotta start on the low man totempole. But I repeat never do somethen that u absoultly hate. If its juss boring or a a litte hard work suck it it up.I'm 22 now and have a baby on the way. So as of today I'm glad m parent pushed me into the real world per say. If u asked me 2 yrs ago id have a totally different answer fo you.

I had an awesome job in my 20's selling produce aka fruits and veg as well as many other gourmet products to some of the bests chefs in Los Angeles, its a family business. My great grandfather used to sell potatoes, lettuce, onions, and tomatoes to this guy named carl karcher, and my pops has worked with some of the best as well like Wolfgang puck.

Oh and 4 anyone that didn't know Carl Karcher is the dude that started Carl's Jr.

Anyone in L.A wanna try a couple awesome restaurants check out these 2 they r owned by a couple of great chefs and sum friends of mine. Animal over on fairfax in hollywood, and their other is a new one I forget where but its in L.A as well called Son of a Gun. They even competed on Iron Chef America and had their own show on food network for a lil while.

Sell enough medical marijuana to start a small business in an unrelated industry and then work for yourself. This will work best if you have a good idea for a business and/or you are passionate about the work you choose. There is a term for people who work for somebody else, suckers.

I have a full time job and have since i was fresh out of high school. I have had a few different jobs, but always full time. I love having the money to be independent and not be a burden on my folks. I first moved out because I wanted to have freedom. If I could do it again, I'd have lived by my old mans rules for a while longer and gone backpacking. Now I just got the coin to ride around over-seas finally. Hard to save when you have bills to pay.

The best part about living independently is earning the respect of your folks. For a slacker stoner like me who was always in trouble, the nicest thing I can do for them is to show them I'm responsible and well adjusted. At least pretend for a while in front of their friends.

You can blame the economy, and yeah, it's a crazy system, but there is work. Go get some safety tickets and drill for oil. It's morally repugnant, but so is existing in modern North America. Hand out resumes at places you think you'd like. Move somewhere that is booming even if it's lame.

Our parents generation had it handed to them on a silver platter. Only gen X had it easier. Our grandparents are looking at all of us thinking what little bitches we are because they lived through the dirty 30's, a fu<king WORLD WAR, and still built the most powerful economies in the world. Our parents told us it would be easy, but our grandparents know otherwise. Winter is coming! Get some paper and use it to make a change. Supplement that income with a clandestine garden in your independent living quarters and you'll be loving it.

Unless you're going into a high-demand tech field, I think that college has become nothing but a debt trap. If you look at Craigslist, the trade jobs are always hiring -- plumbers, electricians, etc. Sure, construction work is down, but when someone's plumbing or electricity goes south, they always find a way to pay to get it fixed. Hell, learn how to run a CNC lathe or mill and you will be employed forever.

I think that the US is also going to move back to more multi-generational housing. When I got out of HS, it was considered a fail if I kept living at home. I think now it's just considered good financial planning...

The baby-boomers robbed the shit out of the post-generations. They are naive to think that they will not pay, along with their offspring.

They voted-in, a structured form of robbery. Unfortunately the robbery they, and their generation of politicians voted in, doesn't mathematically nor systematically work, thus they will suffer some/most of the repercussions.


This generation will not pay for their mistakes, as it's not only the most unethical route of correction, but it's simply impossible.
