They are looking good. Everything is getting really full and definitely transitioning but no hairs yet. I'll get a video up once they show some good sites.

Happy four twenty! Two! First "legal" one in Washington! I finally got the email registration for creating my user id!! What's up Tags!!

I've been following this post for awhile because I just bought a few r2's for my grow setup too, then stumbled upon this. Im sort of a noob right now growing on my own and I was hoping these lights would give me an edge on starting out. (I'll see if I can figure out how to post a picture so you can see my progress...)

Anyway I just want to say thanks to tags for a lot of some good info and let everyone know that these lights work amazingly well. Some of my friends are jealous, heh heh.

There are a few major advantages I've noticed over other HPS systems, the major one being the focused light footprint. Directly from the light source right to the plants, no reflectors or air cooled hoods needed, just a lens. What that says to me is even MORE energy efficiency by the way the light is being directed and of course the lack of need for a fan.

This coupled with the easy plug n play operation makes setting up a room much easier. No ballasts an there's fans already in the lights. I have a simple duct opening with a 6" inline scrubber fan, 400 cfm, just mounted flush with my wall for exhaust and it does just fine. Very low heat signature.

That's just the start of why these lights are awesome. The par ratings are insane compared to HPS and metal halide. And with the r2's you can supplement the best of both worlds of HPS and metal halide all grow cycle with no fuss, letting you provide a full spectrum at all times. Coupled with correct co2, my plants were hippy hairy the first few days into flower! The red is the action spectrum and co2 helps the plant reach maturity. (I've been doing some homework.)

Bottom line is, less operating cost, higher quality, and greater production.

I'll try and figure out howta post some pix now...

My next roation is in place getting ready. My own cross...(Citral Skunk x BC big bud)= Big Lemon and also some SFV OG clones.
These will fill the other side of my 8x12 room. I will be testing the new bigger unit by Apache and these guys will be the guinea pigs.
IMG_1946.jpg

Any more info on the new products from Apache?

Price, availability, etc.?

Gonna pull the trigger on something soon.

tia
They are making ten prototype units that will be ready by monday. I should have 1, maybe 2 by next friday for field testing. It will be a 36"x36" housing that contains 4 AT120's spaced 8" apart. It will kill a 4x4+ area at about 600w. I will have a video up as soon as I get them. The plan is by the end of the next month to have 100+ units ready for shipping. That will be a temporary(6-9 months) model till apache separates the AT120 into individual 20w lens units that can each be place for more even of a spread with only about 480w. As of now the lens units are technically separate but the heat sink is one solid piece, so they need to make sure it still cools properly. All the new units will be the same chips(1w) just more of them. Apache is testing new chips but they need to be properly tested and make sure the are compatible with their current platforms and can produce the correct spectrum. They tested a 1.5w chip and produced 3000umols @12" but was getting pretty hot. That is where it is going...1500-2000umols @24" is the next goal.

New 4x4 coverage unit will be $2000-2300 range.
I have a code that will get you the AT120 for only about 800$...750 if you by more than 2+ units...PM me

Thanks for checking this out. Glad you got the apache bug and see how good these lights are. I would love to see what/how you're doing with them.

Last but not least my flowering room update...

Can't wait to see the new beast light when you get it. Sounds like some serious fire power they're testing out. Sent you a PM, need another apache in my tent. Girls are looking really nice, looking forward to watching those bud sites develop. Keep up the good work

Hi Tags,

I have been following your journal from the start. Awesome grow. I have an Apache RB I purchased in 2011 for my first grow and was absolutely amazed at how it performed. I am excited about what you have learned about the new plans at Apache. Thanks for keeping us up to date on them.

I took every plant out today and cleaned them up real nice. I even made a little work table in the room with a lazy suzan to sit a plant on. All the lowers are clean and any huge light blocking leaves were taken off. It looks so open and organized now. I can see that all the buds are going to get great light. I will get pics or a vid up soon.

This is from my veg room but it's going on in the flower room. And they are different strains. I think that they need some extra Mg. I have GH CaMg I will give them. Any thoughts??

This is a big lemon(lemon skunk x BC big bud) from my veg room. Just like the flower room I am cleaning up/pruning. These plants are shaped better and are already almost as big as the BBS in the flower room. I topped them early and I like the results a lot, they all have 4+ big pure mains. These will go under my remaining AT120's and and one new AT480 prototype on the other side of my flower room.

that row that is so much bigger than the others......

Is there an overlap in lighting on that row, or a different combination of two lights at that row? Those things are huge compared to the others

Not really they are all from different spots in the garden till last week when I grouped them in that one row. One has been there the whole time and has been bigger than the rest from day1. But as the whole room stretched the two others caught up so I put them together. I keep it all size oriented for the most part...little on left and bigger on the right side of the garden. The biggest are second to last row so they aren't up against the wall lacking 360* light coverage.
But it really is just those 3 that tower over the otherwise perfectly even canopy.

Thanks for the measurements. The girls still look great despite that early deficiency, think you caught it early on so should be good now. Getting ready for my trip, will be offline for a few weeks so when I come back I expect to see some awesome buds up in here. Keep up the grwat work and when I get back I'll have a new AT in my tent and some new babies to look after. Peace and I'll let you know when I use the code
