A51 uses evergrow...amare uses evergrow. Pending does nothing for us right now. Did amare submit the paten or evergrow.

AMARE does not use Evergrow nor does the manufacture own the patent, because I know who makes their panels, I can't disclose that information. They do not use Evergrow like A51 so you are misinformed. Please get your facts straight and stop assuming. You guys crack me up.

What amare use for emitters/drivers?
 
That's why I said ball park and based on my results with a closely performing CXA3070. I'm getting big numbers from my CXA set up but that might not be the most common way they're used.

I'm running around 529 PPFD with my CXA's.
Ain't no ballpark with these nerds. Lol

So did amare submit the patent or not. I don't care about what you are referring to ownership. I care who submitted it. And what specifically about it is patented, the connector? How specific is said patent.

I tried to use the brackets but the screws I was given wouldn't fit the holes. Mine is the first gen pre release lights though

As for that metal connector, Amare's is pretty different than the A51 one.

The idea of being able to patent a piece of metal with some holes in it, is as vague as trying to patent cars. No make or model, just cars in general.

Maybe they can patent theirs exactly how they have it or A51 can patent it the exact way they have it. But patenting a piece of metal with holes can not be done. Patents need to be pretty specific.

I don't think anyone copied anyone either. They had an idea to connect some units together, and I did as well. I've been talking about it for more than 2 years now. The 1st idea I had would have been not at all user friendly, that's why I went with a more simpler way to connect them. If anyone copied anyone, they'd look a lot more like the same.

Look at Homedepot, they have tons of similar brackets. That's how I got my idea, I was walking up and down the isles looking at stuff.

I am very close with a Principal member of the USPTO, who specializes in Biomedical Engineering (devices). Anyone can create a patent submission, but getting it "allowed" (granted a patent) is another story entirely. I'm also friends with a Lutron Senior Engineer, who works in the "connectors" group and we have spoken about patents on numerous occasions as he has been granted several. Eraserhead is right, they are not going to be given a patent for a piece of metal with holes in it!

Seems like some companies will just say "Patent Pending" or "Patented" so others will be deterred from "copying" anything. Didn't Cammie say she owns the patent for 60° beam angles? Something crazy like that.

Those bracket things both of you use are called Tie Plates. Here's one that's similar to yours:

If I looked hard enough, I'd bet I'd find one just like Amere's too. It's nothing special or breakthrough really. Just a piece of metal.

You can actually patent such an object, but all anyone has to do is change just one dimension and they beat the patent.
 
the website was updated and says that pre-orders should ship on August 24th +/-, which is four weeks from the original estimate of 3-4 weeks, so it sounds like they are keeping to the same schedule... which I find to be good news.
 
Area 51's website now lists the 3000k and 5000k as available for pre-order. What differences in results in a flowering garden can one expect with a 3000k compared to a 4000k, if all other factors are identical?
