Elkhunter is right. ICmag delete posts and dont even explain why, I had an innocent post deleted when I just happened to mention id seen seeds advertised on a retail internet site. I wasnt too bothered about them deleting my post but, call me old fashioned, at least have the decency to explain why. Unacceptable so I dont use it anymore. Actually pleased to see this as obviously im not the only one . God imagine if you had said something really bad?! I mean a pot site surely should be laid back cool were all in it for a laugh like types? But even here seems to be people itching for a hard nut internet fight. Hard on their keyboards like, nothing else.I hate internet warriors. Lets try and get on and help each other no point in rowing imo.

yeah, got banned myself - it's really easy to do over there, imho ICMAG is fubar, literally. But they kind of give freaky nazi control a new definition. Mod PM'd me correcting me on something, so i threw a simply straightforward question back at him. and it was an innocent question - he came back with a snide remark to "quit playing games and not cop an attitude with him" and to not make him have to address me again. i forget the next stmt fm him, but it was surreal.

So as i was typing a response informing him to not worry about having to ever correct or contact me again, as i was terminating my membership. The minute i hit the "send" button to transmit the msg, a notice popped up on the screen indicating in bold "you've been banned for arguing with a moderator, for two days" and to try again in two days yada yada. He had to have been watching what i was typing in the message box as i was typing it - didn't realize mods could do that or that they did that or would care to do that.

They are truly living in their own world.

It's a shame, as there are some great members over there but the mods methods and what the abuse they will allow from "favored" members limits their forum's growth.

Ive posted 30 times there and i dont think im taken too serious, then again ive posted less than 400 times here and been a member for 5 years. I havnt been editid yet in either place but ive pissed allot of people off here lol.

went and did a search on youtube for "Gypsy Nirvana" vids - WOW - if i'd had seen those before signing up at ICMAG, i'd never have registered there. How's that saying go, "somethings can never unseen"

Not sure who wouldn't get a little riled for the illogical treatment they dish out - but don't discount all the reasons some would detail their experiences over at ICMAG - mine wasn't just a need to vent but to alert others, hopefully before they get a taste of it firsthand. It's just inconceiveable to me why any mods would want to treat folks the way they do when they have to know it's counterproductive to what i would assume their goal is or should be, ie foster membership. There's a watch forum, TIMEZONE.com, that i thought held the record for freaky nazi control mentality - ICMAG goes way beyond them. Think about the mentality of the moderator reading my msg to the mod as i'm typing it, so he could ban me in advance of me terminating my membership. That alone sez he was anticipating the strong possiblity i'd be leaving. And i found out he must have deleted my msg to one other member telling him i was thinking about terminating.

To find just one report is one thing, but when you find scores of other recent banned posters reporting similarly illogical conduct, there's got to be something in the water over there, or maybe they think they're still in the late 1990s in terms of chat forum development & attitudes.

Who cares about fostering membership if they have a decent amount of members they already like; Why should they let you into their special club? Like I said, some people are just dicks and derive enjoyment from stuff like that. Anyone that spends any amount of time on a forum will inevitably run into those type of people. I have not seen it on RIU so much, but I have certainly encountered it on other forums.

I got banned at icmag about 5 years ago for asking questions about deleted posts.
It was weird.

i don't disagree with your assessment as to the base motivation - my point which i didn't detail well, is that given the arrest of gypsy causing a number of folks bailing off the forum, you'd think they'd turn their brain switch to the "on" position and not aggravate the drop in membership unnecessarily.

i don't have access to google traffic analytics but it would be interesting to see what ICMAG's traffic trends have been

They who? That's what you need to worry about. My guess is the fed's got the keys now and are workin' towards sumptin'. But I'm usually wrong 'bout this type of thing.

if you're concerned about ID info (and we all should be), you should be using TAILS (The Amnesiac Incognito Live System) basically a linux based operating system, that uses TOR for an automatic browser, and runs off a flash or thumb drive, so you don't leave any traces in that info vacuuming system called windows microsoft - check it out https://tails.boum.org/ - it's open sourced and developed/tweaked by the software community - fwiw
