I wait two weeks into flower befor really lolipoping. I do this because the plant is pretty much done its stretch phase and you can see which branches will not get enough light.

Yeah i keep mine always trimmed so barely any light gets through. Taking them off the bottom, even taking small branches off the bottom six inches of stalk will help. Taking them off in the beginning of flowering also fools the plant to speed up its flowering process. it thinks its being eaten so it puts its energy into producing buds all the faster. When it comes to two weeks before the plants are done I will take ALL the fan leaves off. The buds themselves are big enough at this point to collect light themselves, and the buds will again be told its time to produce mass flowers. The last week of flushing also helps, as it sends more signals to the plant to put all energy into flowering as there are no nutrients- the buds will also flush faster without leaves. The plant will naturally draw nutes from the leaves first, unless there are no leaves. The secondary storage for the plant is the buds. So you will have clean bud in less time- so you can give them full nutes for longer than you normally would.

Oh- if you want to make the lower branches grow faster, trim the leaves and grow shoots off half the lower portion of any branch. These will grow faster to reach the canopy.

I understand your frustration, but I'd like to point out that this is in the wrong section, since it has essentially turned into your grow journal. You'd likely get more attention in that section. Along with that, the title probably keeps many people from looking, because it sounds like just a question, rather than a grow journal with some pretty sexy pictures.

That being said, you have plenty of posts and have therefore been around a while, so I'm assuming you have multiple reasons to be annoyed with the site. Sorry to see you go, but at least keep on growing man. Good luck

you did Help!!!, i was just going thur some shit....i did harvet out thu. not as much as my 1st grow. 7/8 oz. only, enough for me for a while, i did start a new grow with about 9 new clones however im only going to use 4/5, im going with less plants because, im thinking less plants gets more of the lighting? i think i had too many plants last time, my first grow, i got 7 oz from 3 plants,,this time i got about the same with 8 plants. i only have the 1 600w HPS and thats all im going with for now. am i making sense? I think im going to start a new jounal in a diffrent chat room..Thanks FDD...u the man with the plan...

Uh I'm going to have to disagree in a big, big way there. The plant probably produces those leaves for a reason; I highly doubt they are extraneous. Leaves soak up sunlight which is absolutely necessary for the plant to produce energy...I'm sure you remember all that from biology.

Most people who cut them off do so in the last two weeks, I think, to fatten up the buds. But to do so at the start of flowering would lead to dead plants, I'd have to imagine. I haven't tried this at all, so I could be wrong, but it just seems insane to kill half the plant when there are still 8+ weeks left.

I agree totally with this guy.. why let your plant grow for 1-3 months, and then waste all the energy it put out, and time consumed by cutting it all off..? More leaves= more light soaked up and energy produced.

I am currently in the flowering stage at the moment, and the only leaves I ever removed were the ones falling off at the bottom of the plant that arn't really being too helpful. other then that, I leave what nature grew, and I let it run it's course.
