Beginer Problem

First of all Hi to everyone i apologize for my bad English ill do my best you guys can understand me xD

So I'm a first-time grower and I'm on a budget,
so I have some DIY equipment and I'm not all that versed in growing.

I'm waiting on the growbox which should come next week but still ill be missing inline fan + filter .
(for at least month or two more )

These are some no name seeds I got from the shit I smoked.
So I'm growing for education only to learn from mistakes, on how to water, fertilize, LST , Top and more.
I don't even know if it's photoperiod or autoflower , feminized or not.

In the pictures below ill show you my humble setup, and after that the problem I'm having at the moment.


These are lights I'm using: Philzon 1000w COB Lights (Actual drawing wattage 250w )
I have them at 56cm since i can't put them higher as u can see on my setup.
I have a feeling lights are rly strong.
I tested lux with the android app (its supposed to work 10% max error) and its around 40-50k only on VEG-BLOOM mode, as you can see on the picture.
(COB lights are OFF)
With cob lights is around 140-160k

PPFD with VEG-BLOOM lights is around 600 and combined with cob
1300
(its at range of middle plant , not much difference in corner since its small growbox )

This is my Intake fan Fan 20cm 5v on USB



This is my Exaust fan 8cm 5v on USB (old pc fan)


And my Humidity and Temperature meter



I also have PH meter and TDS meter ( so I'm checking these when watering )
Also, have ph up and ph down .

I'm using BIOBIZZ ALL mix and LIGHT mix Soil.

These are around 10 days old and yesterday they became somehow limpy , curled leaves (curled inside)

Im watering them when the soil is completely dry to up around 2cm deep.

Im interested what may the reason for these be ?
Overwatering ? Underwatering ? Light to low ?
Also did any of you used Biobizz soil and nutrients .

I put the transparent ones (cups) in dark black bag (only cup ) so the root system is protected now .

Also i wanna know if anyone experienced something like this. This was 1 seed only and it grew two plants ?
(The purple light is light reflecting from grow lights )


Remember I'm a first-time grower with a limited budget, so i will appreciate any advice, harsh word, or help I get here.

Turn every switch on the light on. There's rarely too much light. Keep it simple and get bud. Your seedlings look good but separate them like tomorrow. Get two cups ready and filled. Use a pencil and make a hole for the root.

Empty the cup with the seedlings and just spill it out. Take each seedling and plant. They'll be okay. Don't overwater

I don't have any experience with biobiz soil, but their web site states this:
"This heavily pre-fertilized substrate mixture emulates a rich outdoor soil with a full micro active ecosystem. It’s been designed to have enough nutrient-fuelled power to sustain lush growth for a couple of weeks, without any need to add any extra fertilizer."

"Keep the soil slightly warm at all times – if it’s too cool, the microbial activity slows down, which makes it more difficult for the plants to grow. You also want to allow the soil to dry out between each watering. Because, as the All·Mix substrate dries out, fresh air gets in, which helps the soil to breathe."

Ill do that its my test run with no name seeds so I want to see what happens. Thank you for suggestion.

I forgot to mention that I also used light mix soil . So I mixed biobizz all mix 50% and Light mix 50% .
The soil at the top gets rly dry so its tempting to water more.
For my original good seeds ill use fabric pots.

Rly appreciate your time and your answer.

Hi. Firstly, beware high temps in small spaces especially with cobs. They pump out a lot of heat. Cardboard not ideal, a fire danger, be careful.

But its a start and gets you in the game.

Id suggest to flip around that intake fan in that same hole, and use as an exhaust. Use the little pc fan for air movement inside the box over the plants and/or light. Intake can be just a few small holes down low. The exhaust will simply suck in air from the intake so ensure you have enough holes to match the fan or it'll burn out in no time. You want to suck out the heat and pull in fresh air in the process.

Leave the cobs off for a while until plants are growing well in a week or 2. But be very careful with the heat. You may need to evolve the grow box as you go, but thats half the fun. The bud at the end the other.

You'll need to block all light entering when you switch to flower. Light traps are a pretty simple concept and judging from your pics you could easily knock up something out of cardboard with a quick google: 'Light trap' But make sure it wont impede the air flow.

Those seeds will be regs, so roughly 50/50 males and females. You'll need to cull all males as soon as their balls drop.

I had the same experience with my first grow, It was a bag of seeds from a friend, don't know it is a photo or auto, I start it in August and keep it 20/4 for almost 4 months, then it witch to 12/12 and now is in middle of flowering.271585390_5324164514260925_2177564651451484819_n.jpg

I will do that , so ill just rewerse the fans in same holes . Thank you . Im getting growbox next week so at least that's a good thing. Thank you for your input. Apriciate it -

i dont think he can without fucking up those roots as its his first grow

i suggest, let them grow out and fill the cup and after they are strong enough pull them out of the cup and use a scalpel to cut the soil mass into two parts between the plants and dont plant multiple seeds into same containers ever again

so you guys experienced that 2 plants from 1 seed ? Its not something rly unusual ? I will wait 1 more week then ill try to separate them , even if they die there wont be much damage , the point of this run is to learn everything I can .

oh havent really read that through so it was just one seed ok polyembryonic seeds is what its called so be careful with the roots thats the trick of seperating them roots have microscopic hairs on them and they attach to the surrounding soil and if they get damaged the roots will become useless. so try to dont mess it too much and try to seperate without distrupting the soil and the roots.

The 50/50 males females thing can be misleading
That’s the approximate ratio of the seeds developed in a single plant. Not necessarily what you get. If you purchase reg seeds down the road, hope for 50% or more to be female but don’t trash the bank if they’re not. Like a lottery ticket that says 1 in a hundred wins. You can buy 200 and still lose them all highly unlikely but you could. You have no more than 50/50 odds not atleast

I've done as I described multiple times. Never lost one yet. Dump them out while they're still easy to separate without surgery. That's going to be even harder for a beginner v

i’m still gonna opt for surgery a scalpel cuts soil and roots like butter very easy and since no thugging of the roots and no disturbance around the remaining rootball higher cahnce of success imo but everyone has a way to do something and i’ll not argue on which ones superior because there is no such thing :)

So this is what happened from yesterday. The biggest seedling started to curl in taco shape. Leaves are still bent down . Other smaller got they first leaves yellow. And they kinda seem somewhat dry.

So since the biggest one might be overwatered before, I imathatthat was the first problem for curled down leaves, but now might it be that COB lights are too strong ?
Also because of yellowing of first leaves.

Also my temperature in tent is now almost 25 ° celsius . It might be to hot for them ?

BB All Mix is a bit hot for autos and overwatering triggers too much nute release...BB light mix has been my chosen medium for years for autos. Start everything in solo cups and let'em rip...light mix drains well but overwatering is still easy...ya gotta give'm time.....ya gotta learn the difference in 'moist' and 'wet'......

you are right. I still have problems differentiating these two. I will be a noob and just measure dry cups on the scale and then wet cups since the lift-up method doesn't really work for me. Also my fingers are so thick and sturdy that I don't even feel if the soil is wet or not when I put a finger in xD

About all mix and light mix. For my good seeds (autos) I plan to use 70% light mix and 30% allmix soil , just to have little nuuts if needed. This batch is around 50% light mix and 50% allmix.

Also is it not all mix organic ? like the plant takes nuts when needed ?

maybe its my humidity and tem since its around 40 % all day and temp around 25 % . I also run lights from 22:00 to 16:00 PM since its cheaper electricity for 8 H xD
