Best dehumidifier

Need a good one that can handle a 4*4*6' space. Smallest footprint and will turn back in after power is cut via a controller. Humidity levels are pushing 70% at times and would like to get it under control before the plants get larger.

zon has one for $80 and uses 65watts, if not good enough, get 2. cheap and effective. Mines on the way.

And doesn't do much. Even though it says it can handle the space. It also doesn't auto start once the controller shuts power off until I hit on again.

I just ordered one on amazon for a 3x3x4 space that stays at 75%rh, I'll let you know how well it does (48$)

This is what I use. It will turn back on after the power is out... but it takes 3 minutes to do so. Avoid the thermo-electric (peltier) dehumidifiers... they are very inefficient and only good for the smallest spaces.

Hey bud, sorry i didnt post a link, been busy and forgot,
Its good for 100sqrft, 1.6 pints a day, BUT uses 65watts, and if you use 2, it still is only 130watts compared to 450W, for that small space. I have that small one already too,lol, dont do much as you said.

Does it auto restart. Id say that is the biggest feature in looking for is the ability if my env controller to turn it off and on.

Aka if you pull the power plug while you've turned it on, when you plug it back in will it automatically turn back on.

And also keep in mind guys that when looking at power consumption you also need to factor in the rate it can pull out water for ex.

A 600w unit that does 70 pints. Is 8.5watts/pint

A unit that is 60w and does 3 pints. Is 20watts/pint.

Obviously the 70 pint unit will be more efficient and then shut off, hence using less electricity overall, the only caveat to it all is usually the units size. I have very limited space already within my grow closet and giving up a 1.5sf is a lot, but keep this in mind if you're not under such tight space requirements.

I banking on it, that it does. Im going to be hooking it to a InkBird humidifier monitor control, so i also need it to turn on when its supposed to. From what Ive read on it, it seems it auto-shutoffs when the water level is full, we'll see soon enough,lol..

I was to on the one I bought but it didn't. Seems to be only the larger units advertise this feature. Only reason I asked is because it's a push button setup like the one I currently have and wouldn't be surprised if it's similar in that it in fact does not auto restart

Here is the one i had purchased from amazon, running 24 hours so far and doing fine. My previous statement of 80% was wrong, and i have a new hygrometer (and this unit has one built in, but of unknown accuracy).

If you unplug it and replug it in does it resume dehundifying ? Very similar to my small one. Basically a 1 pint dehumidifier.

Yeah it has a big switch on the back rather than a button. My area is small and it does raise the temps noticeably

Ok a new week new things to hash out. Since I've up my lights temps have been higher and the ventilation has been running more frequent. Maybe once an hour. Is it more worthwhile to control the humidity from my lung room vs the enclosure itself. Then I wouldn't be so worried about a large unit because outside space doesn't matter. Or it is better still inside the grow closet because that's where the plants are.

If you want to do it right then do it the first time. Spend the money on a good quality humidifier and don’t buy until you can. Just save the money it’s worth it. Try amazon and look at reviews. I saw a Frigidaire for $189
