Best light coverage for 10x5x6 tent

@diggs99, so I’m thinking of going with some 10 series 80/20 for my frame, the 1” heatsinks and a Meanwell driver, but also thinking of making four 2’ x 4’ lights to cover my 4’ x 8‘ area and don’t know which driver to go with? Do I need 4 drivers, one for each light or 2 drivers, 2 lights per driver? Gonna use thermal tape and some t-nuts for hanging, mounting etc

Love that 1020 and tslot in general, nice stuff to work with.
Thats totally up to you on the drivers, you can use 2 drivers, 1 per 2 fixtures, or you can give each light its own driver

Obviously I’m looking to do what’ll wrk and be cheaper lol. I watched a video ( that’s where I got the frame idea ) where he was using a 320w driver I Believe but that was for one light. Using those strips from cutter, I dont know how many watts it’ll be putting out? U think it would be easier to just build two 4 x 4 lights and have 2 seperate drivers?

Attached is the link to the video I watched and was thinking of just doubling the width. What do u think bud?

honestly their not that bad all u really have to do is drill holes and talk to a company for heatsinks for 2 of my fixtures I paid 390 not bad huh

I would look at wanting 960 watts atleast so coer 4x8...thats 30w/ft2

So using a 480w driver for 2 fixtures, or a 240w for each.

I built mine with the tslot, love it

for a 4x8 I would do four of the fixtures can cover it nicely im using 12 gen2bxbes for each 23" inch long heatsink two feet long just about

Oh shoot, I thought I was talking to @diggs99 still lol. My fault man

Ya im confused lol

Just stick with your original plan....4 fixtures...each with 240w pushing them, whether that be 1 driver each or a 480 split between the 2.

The wiring for the drivers is a non issue, so dont let that sway your decision, its basically about price and just how versatile you want your lights to be.

Sry bud, I was so used to u replying that i didnt even know it was someone else lol. Not gonna lie, all that wiring is makin me think lol. I mean I like to think I’m a pretty smart guy and good with diy projects, but wiring shit up worries me lol

lol i hear ya bud.

The main reason i would never suggest building bigger lights with the J series is wiring. they only come in 2` strips, so wiring up big lights is a nightmare. If you use 2` strips on a 2x light tho, its pretty easy. you dont have much wire management to worry about.

My lights were total insanity lol

god that's the only reason I go with the bxbes super simple wiring and u can bump the max amount up if u do a modular build just like that im doing

LOL the wiring is exactly the same with the bxebs too bro

big lights are big lights and 2` strips need the same wiring no matter the brand

Ok, I apologize but I’m confused. So what ur saying is wiring up two 4 x 4 lights is harder or easier?

Jesus idk but I was using a controller that’s what I meant and wiring it up that way was a pain

Not sure what you mean? wiring with a controller?

the only thing that changes wiring chaos is light size or strip size, thats it

they all need to be wired in paralell or series
